"We are what we love. We are the things, the people, the ideas we spend our days with. They center us, they drive us, and they define us to our very core. Without them, we are empty."

~ Daisy Whitney (The Rivals) ~

And that pretty much sums up all of us - there are a lot of things which I love and some which I am pretty much obsessed with (of which some are but a passing phase and others are more or less permanent) - my current obsession being Swara and Sanskaar, even though the serial is long over and I had stopped watching it once they resurrected Kavita.

But this was during those days, when I would watch the serial and unfortunately, the serial track then was slightly boring, despite the blissful scenes and the promise of more to come, and furthering this despondency was the fact that one of my ideas for a story regarding a fan fiction had run amok.

I needed a fix, badly, and notwithstanding the numerous outstanding stories being penned on that forum, had decided to contribute by way of this short story, a simple one with no great twists or turns but am hoping that it would be an interesting read. Which, my dear readers, is something you would have to decide. I was pretty apprehensive about attempting a serial story, am still to this day, so your comments would a great support.

This story incorporates my love for coffee, (some days, I wake up only for coffee) cakes, cookies, cinnamon (my favourite spice), chocolate (my all-time love), conversations and SwaSan, liberally dosed with my eternal fascination with the interplay of chance, choice and inevitable consequences.

I loved writing this story and hope you, my dear reader, does too. And note that all feedback, good or bad, is welcome.

Dedication to every reader who stops by to read: "May you find happiness."

Special mention: to a couple of my offline friends who have generously shared their time and knowledge; one is an expert baker and all the cupcakes mentioned in this tale have been based on her recipes and the other for introducing me to the 'Ranjana' song and providing the literal translation for it (not once did he crib while I nagged him to death). Thank you guys for sharing even when you knew that there would be but a passing reference to your contribution.

Specific mention: To Harshada (@LostInFictions) for convincing me to join WattPad. Without her, I would not be here. So this story, here, is for you.

love,

Nyna
