If it hadn't been official, it was official now.

Anne was pro-Yeti.

She had taken his side.

After I took my best friend to my room and explained the events that transpired on the fateful coffee day in hushed tones, she baffled me.

"You should have apologized," she said. "You're lucky you didn't get fired."

Wait, what?

My face must have said what my mouth didn't because she kept on.

"So maybe he was wrong to pour iced coffee on you, but--"

I couldn't let her continue.

"Not maybe Anne. Definitely. He was definitely wrong."

"But you should have ended it there. He was most likely just being playful about it, but you went to get a whole pot. What it had been steaming?"

"I wouldn't have done it if it was hot."

"Mmmhmm."

The lack of confidence in my character. Appalling.

"Are you really defending him?"

"No, Kay. I'm trying to be impartial. You could have gotten fired."

LIES!

"He doesn't have that much power. And I don't want you to be impartial. You are my best friend."

"You said you'd give him a chance. Did you even try tonight?" She raised her brow at me.

Mine dipped in response.

"He told the story."

"And he kept your name out of his mouth. He tried to make conversation with you the entire night, but you completely ignored him."

Anne was walking a fine line.

"Tonight wasn't about me and him. It was supposed to be a chance to get our serious boyfriends to like each other."

"Well David is family, so that means you need to be able to tolerate him."

I groaned loudly. There was no use talking to her at this point.

"Go home, I'll clean up the rest of the mess by myself."

Anne looked like she wanted to say something.

"Say it."

"You're playing sabotage."

The nerve!

"Sabotage? Me? You? Why would I do that?"

"Because you hate David and Donnie is related to him."

The very thought that she'd think like this.

"Anne, get out."

She did and closed my door behind her.

This was really new to me. We rarely had disagreements on people. Especially people who we had no romantic relationship with.

What did everyone see in David Welsh?

So what if he was good looking? That was all he had going on for himself.

Thomas came to find me in my room.

"Donnie and Anne left," he said.

"Did you like him?" I asked. "Donnie?"

"He's a great person with an awesome personality. We have different interests but once David and I convince him to fall in love with American football, we'll be good."
