Your POV
I couldn't believe what just happened at Xukun's house. I couldn't believe that his parents would judge me so hard... for the first time in my life. I wanted to be different. I want to be rich for once..
"Yueyue. Are you home. I made dinner." Nainai knocked on my door. I wiped the tears away with my palms. I opens the door to see nainai holding a soup and a bowl of friend rice.
"Nainai~ this looks so good!" I cheered, trying to not show the fact I was crying.
"Why were you crying Yueyue?" I froze in my spot as I felt tears come again.
"Tell me Yueyue."
I took a deep breath and told her the truth. "I met Xukun's parents. And they looked down on me because I wasn't wealthy like they were." I answered, breaking down into tears again.
"They what? They looked down on you? Aish. This is why I hate rich people. They always judge people.." she said in anger.
"Nainai. Don't worry about it. I'll be fine. Let's eat hm?" Nainai let out a huge huff then sat down next to me. She smiled sweetly to me before placing her hand over mine.
"Who cares what other people say. As long as your the same Zhen Yuejia that I looked after since you were 7. Then that's all that matters." She said. I smiled back and kissed nainai on his cheek.
"Thank you nainai."
_____
The next day was school came. And for the for the first time. I didn't want to go to school. I was actually scared to see Xukun. I was afraid to face him after last night.
"Yuejia~"
I smiled once I saw Feihong run over to me with a bright smile, she hugged me tight and told me everything is going to be okay.
Yes I told her what happened . I trust her. She is my best friend after all.
"Once I see that Cai Xukun. I will destroy him for hurting the sweetest girl I met." She hissed. I smiled and hugged her.
"Your the best feihong!"
_____
"Zhen Yuejia! Talk to me!" Xukun yelled. But I couldn't face him yet.
"Yuejia! Don't you dare run away from me!!" But I did. I ran through the halls hopping that he won't catch up.
I saw a door that led outside, so I opened it and ran out to the track and field tracks. I went up to the bleachers and sat there, seeing my visions cloud up from tears that were coming.
I hated the fact that I was avoid him. I know it's not his fault but to think that his parents see me like that. I can't face him. Because when I do. I just see his father, questioning me, a question by question. And only about money..
"Zhen Yuejia." I sniffed a bit and looked up. Meeting Li Fengmian's eyes.
She had a smirk on her face as she walked towards me.
"Why the long face Yuejia?" She mocked. I but my lip and tried to ignore her.
She let out a sigh as she took a seat next to me.
"I'll just cut to the chase." She started. "I have something that you might want to know as well."
"I highly doubt if Fengmian."
She chuckled a bit before handing me the name of the café I work at on a piece of a paper.
I raised my brow in confusion. "What is this?"
"I have information about your parents. They had something to do with Xukun's family."
My interest grew upon just hearing her talk.
"How do you know that?" She cracked a small smile. "Just meet me at the café. I'll tell you there." She said before getting up and leaving me.
I held the piece of paper in my hand as I gripped it slightly.
"How does she know about my family? How do I know I could trust her?"
_____
I went to the café and waited for her. I made myself an ice coffee, and at the same time, Fengmian arrived.
"You came." She reported. I nodded. "Yeah.. you want something?"
She hummed, looking at the menu. "I'll have a strawberry smoothie."
"Okay, go have a seat. I'll bring it to you once it's done." She headed to one of the tables and waited.
I headed over with her smoothie, along with my ice coffee. She thanked me and took a sip, while I sat down in front of her, anticipating on what she has to say.
"I don't want to sound rude, but can you just tell me what you know?" I asked. She nodded as she reached into her bag and pulled out a piece of paper.
It was a picture of a necklace.
Wait.. I've seen that necklace before. I saw it at Xukun's house when I went there yesterday.. but what does it have to do with my parents?
"This necklace belongs to your mother. Your parents and Xukun's parents were business partners. I know because my parents were also apart of it." She said confidently.
Business partners? Mama and papa always said that they worked in a restaurant as a chef and a waiter.
"Your mama's name is Zhen Yuemei. But her real name is Zhen Yuelai, she had to use a fake name because of the business our families were doing. Your papa had one too. His name is Zhen Zhangbai. But his real name is Zhen Jiangjia. Both your parents were forced to do something that I myself don't know. But only your parents had to do it, and it ended up getting them killed. My theory is that this had to do with Xukun's parents."
My heart was aching. I couldn't hear anymore.. I just didn't want to.
"Didn't you say your parents were business partners too? Why don't you think they were involved?" I questioned.
"Because the day that your parents passed away, I was in the hospital, getting heart surgery, my parents were both next to me." She said flipping the page to show her hospital papers. It was true.. she was getting heart surgery.
"How do I know your not lying..?" I asked, holding in all the confusions that are running in my mind.
"Just ask the Cai family. Show them these papers." She answers.
I looked over every page, as tears slowly slipped away from my eyes. Fengmian had left a long time ago.
So I was just sitting alone, reading these pages over and over. Nothing made sense. I felt so dumb and useless. I know nothing about my parents.
