"But... You know... You still have to give him a chance, for my sake?" She stood up and placed her arms on my shoulders. "He needs you Emily, I can see it in his eyes that... He might even love you more than he loved ...Brave."
I took a step back in shock and disbelief. I didn't want to replace her, I just wanted to heal his past and that was all. I couldn't replace her... It just wasn't right.
"Emily." She whispered and I stared at her.
"I don't want to replace her... If anything... I can't do that." I said and she sighed, looking around.
"If you've noticed he's still going ahead with the wedding preparations, we tried stopping him but... He just won't listen," she shrugged, toying with her fingers. "Emily, you've never met Hunter before and you can't say you've fallen in love with him, you don't know... Maybe he's a lot more worse than Grey."
"Hunter... Is different okay?" I rubbed my elbow, trying to think.
"You've always wanted Grey to change, he has and... You just want to leave?" She asked and I walked to the window, trying to get some fresh air.
"I just don't know what to do right now," I admitted. "I'm confused and don't know what to even think about." I clenched on the window frame, sighing deeply.
"Emily," I shut my eyes when I heard Grey's voice in my head. He was here... "I... Want to talk to you, in private?"
I felt Renee's presence disappear as the door opened and closed. I didn't want her to go, she can't go, she has to be here or else I might end up slapping Grey again.
"I know... You're so against me now," he said, keeping a safe distance from me. "I know I'm hurting you and I've hurt you many times, but Emily all I can say is sorry," he sighed. "There are too many things I can't make out for. Emily... I'm in love with you okay? And..." He walked to me, gently span me round to face him. He went on one knee and I blushed when he took out a small white box from his pocket
"Will you be my mate and marry me?" He asked, I looked away as tears slid down. Tears of joy? Pain? Hate? I had no idea and I didn't want to find out. I simply curled my hand into a ball and chewed on my lip, failing to answer or do anything.
"Emily." he begged and I couldn't help but not look at him.
"Give me time." I said in a near whisper and he sighed out in relief as he stood up.
"I thought you'd say no," he chuckled weakly. "I was afraid to even ask."
I simply nodded and sighed, shutting my eyes.
"I have to talk to Hunter, Grey," I said and he clenched his jaw tightly, looking sharply at me. "You know this is serious and I can't... Just marry you when he's my mate too."
He looked at one spot on the ground and clenched his fists, his breathing tensed and it startled me.
He didn't answer. He was lost in thought to what he's supposed to do.
The silence was intense and not every comforting, rather deadly and poisonous. It was as if he was going back to shutting up and I never liked that, it scared me and it hurt in a million ways.
"Okay," he said then furrowed his eyebrows when he shifted his gaze to me. His eyes sparkled not in admiration, but fear, pain and disbelief. "You can go, but... Come back... Please?"
"Thank you." I smiled and hugged him to my chest. He slowly wrapped his arms around me and tightened the hug.
We can give him a chance.
She whispered to me... My wolf forgave him?
Just then, I felt our connection grow. It was strong and I felt like I knew him more.
"Can you feel that?" He whispered in my ear, gripping onto my waist tightly.
"I..I can," I whispered and he softly kissed my shoulder.
What's going on....?
