"this mental pressure got me poppin' pills and shit"

"so now what? wait for a 911 call, and hope we get there in time?" the detective asked, sounding quite uptight and angry, his arms crossed over his chest.

hotch sighed and averted his eyes from the detective, "i guess so. in the meantime we must keep searching. the key to finding where reid is has to be in this house somewhere."

the team and the detective all nodded and went back to their work. layla walked slowly back into the main room to continue flipping through hankle's journals. jj walked up behind her and placed a hand on her shoulder. layla turned to ask what she needed, but was embraced by jj.

"this is all my fault layla. i'm so sorry," she whispered into layla's ear.

layla shook her head slowly, "don't blame yourself jj. everyone feels like they were the one who screwed up, but it wasn't anyone's fault except hankle. he's the one who took reid," she replied, giving jj a soft smile.

jj smiled back at her friend, "i can tell this is eating you up. just know i'm here for you," she said, her voice sounding strong and motherly.

layla nodded, "thanks jj. i'm here for you too."

layla gave jj a soft squeeze on her shoulder. jj nodded and went back to exploring tobias' room while layla began to read a new journal.

once the 911 call came in, they all immediately headed to the address. the team walked into the house, and went straight into the room where the murder occurred.

"slaughtered, same as the others. we've got roadblocks for a fifteen mile radius. every unit's on the road, so far, nothing," the detective reported.

hotch shook his head, "i don't know how much longer reid can hold out," he said, making layla bite down harshly on her lip, which was rapidly becoming a habit of hers.

"who were the victims?" gideon asked.

"pam and mike hayes. he was a local defense attorney," the detective informed the team.

"and what bible passage was left?" gideon continued to probe.

hotch picked up a piece of paper, the bible verse, that was tightly sealed in a plastic sheet.

"isaiah fifty nine. no one calls for justice, no one pleads their case with integrity. they rely on empty arguments, they offer lies," hotch read off.
