“Amy. When you. When you first met me I couldn’t do anything. I could barely finish a school assignment I was that bad. I couldn’t finish anything. I couldn’t try for anything. I had no future, no dreams, no expectations but that’s all changed.” I put my hands on her shoulders. “That’s all changed. You changed me. Because more than anything there is something I want to do. I want to finish something. I have never wanted to do something so badly in my life.” She looked firmly at me, if it wasn’t for how strong of a person she was she would be tearing up by now. “I want to finish.” I took a breath, my heart was hurting, my stomach was stinging and my brain was all screaming at once. “I want to finish.” One last painful breath. I shut my eyes. I would count to three and tell her once I opened them. One… You can do this. Two… I have never wanted to finish something so much in my life. Three… I opened my eyes. “I want to finish telling you that I love you.”
