☆Chapter 3☆

First Day on The Job 

Scarlett's P.O.V

I woke up first. I silently took out my drawing tablet and laptop then hooked the drawing tool up to the computer and started to draw. It relaxed me. I loved to draw early in the morning when I was the only one awake. I sketched out some of the picture and saw the Shiba Inu puppy out of the corner of my eye. I finished the drawing and started coloring it in. I then placed my stuff down and went to get Aki some food. I snuggled with the pup for a bit and then went back to bed. I then saw Toshio and got back out of bed. I hugged Toshio and then went back to bed. He started barking like crazy, and then I heard noises. I groaned, and thought mentally, "Why can't I go back to bed?" 

Christina and Madeline were already brushing their teeth and getting dressed for the day. We had our bakery built a while ago, and today we were opening it. We all got dressed, and put our pets in the car along with our stuff we needed. We went through the backdoor and set up the playpen on the side of the shop. Madeline thought we could have the pets play upstairs of the bakery so they wouldn't touch anything, and also because it was getting really hot and humid outside. After, we all put the pets in there and let them play around. We fed them food and put the food bowls down. Then we went back to the cooking area and started baking.
I helped Christina decorate the cakes and cupcakes that Madeline had baked. We also made dog and cat treats, and food which we sold. We then opened the store and then we got our first customer. Mako. She was our old friend from High School! We all ran up to her and welcomed her. She wanted to join us so we let her become our cashier. Another customer (we forgot her name) came in and ordered a birthday cake for a 10 year old who loved flowers. She gave us her information so we could deliver the cake or call her for any changes. We started on the cake. Well, Madeline did. Me and Christina got bored so we decided to take some blank vanilla cookies and draw our dogs on them with icing. We really liked them so we decided to make more, this time with our cats. Basically all our pets. Mittens and Julie the Ragdoll cats, Shiro and Haru the Shiba Inu and husky., Aki the shiba inu and Toshio the Pomeranian. I kind of messed up Toshio, but it looked like more fur, so I left it there. We decided to put the cookies on display so everyone knew we make pet themed cookies.

Madeline finished the chocolate cake with a pink frosting. Like grass. She gave me and Christina the cake. We started thinking of designs for the 10-year old's Japanese themed cake. Interesting... but fun!

A cake is like a blank canvas...

Me and Christina huddled around the blank cake thinking of how to design it. The girl's name was Kyra and she was turning 11. We decided on a design that was a 3 tier cake and on the sides of the top tier were branches inked out of frosting with pink and white flower petals. The next layer had a lace design. Christina and Madeline both agreed that it was too 'grand' for a birthday cake- but there is nothing that can be overdecorated.

  Madeline put it upstairs in the mini refrigerator because the main one didn't have enough room. Then she said something about that she was going to go take a break.
"Scarlett, aren't you assistant baker or something? I feel like I'm doing all the work." Madeline said. I glanced up from my Instagram.
"Wow..." I said.
"No but seriously, I'm tired. Hello?!" Madeline got annoyed from my ignorance. "You have to help," she commanded.
"No. I mean wow to this!" I showed Christina and Madeline what I was talking about- a picture of a beautiful rose cake with and an ombre white to purple. "We could totally nail this."
"I'm really good at roses! But no one ordered that. I know, it can be for display! Scarlett can bake it! Please?!" Christina begged. And Christina really wanted to do that; she usually doesn't beg.
"Okay." And then Madeline went upstairs.
