☆Chapter 16☆

Choco-tortoise?

Christina's P.O.V.

After we got changed , we played a short game of anime trivia to see who would drive us home. As I expected, Madeline was the one who lost, so she would drive us home. She still thought it was unfair though, because we had way more time to watch anime than she had, so we would obviously be the winners, but we didn't really have much time left to (if we wanted enough time to make the chocotorta) to play another game, so we just went with it. As soon as we got home, we dropped off our stuff and headed right to the grocery store.

"Sooo... what ingredients does this Choco-tortoise exactly have?" asked Scarlett
"First of all, it's 'Chocotorta' and second of all, it's called the internet you big baka!" said Madeline.
"Leave that to me!" I said, instantly pulling out my phone. I loved being the first one to read recipes, because this meant I made more progress on the dessert , which meant i got more credit. Anyways, i looked up the recipe and by the looks of it, i can definitely see why someone would want this. It's not necessarily a cake because there's no batter, but it looks and tastes like a cake so I guess that's why they call it a choco-"torta"

"So this girl said she wanted us to give it our own 'twist' to it, so first we need to know what it's made of. Christina?" Said Madeline.
I was distracted looking at the images of this delicious-looking dessert.
"Oh, Yeah?"

"THE RECIPE!!!" they both yelled out

"Geez fine... but you can't blame me! This cake is mouth watering."

"Yes we know, just get to the recipe already!" said Scarlett, annoyed.

"Ok ok. Here it says that it's mainly made up of 5 layers, 3 of Argentinean chocolate cookies called 'Chocolinas' and a mixture of 'Dulce de Leche' and cream cheese....? Hmm... Interesting."

"How can something so delicious-looking be made of something gross-sounding..." said Scarlett

"Well it can't be that bad... Cream cheese is used in lots of things..." said Madeline.

"Yeah. but there's nothing we can do about it. What the customer wants is what the customer wants." I reply.

"Yeah, good point. Plus, every good chef tastes their food." said Scarlett

Madeline grabbed a cart and we went over to the baking aisle.

"So, you said that this recipe involves cookies called 'Chocolinas' and Dulce de Leche. I know where to find Dulce de Leche but i'm pretty sure that Chocolinas are only for sale in South America so what should we do?" Said Madeline.

"Well, on this website, it says that the Chocolinas are often replaced with Oreos, so we should try that!" I said

"Yeah! That makes this sound even more delicious!" Said Scarlett.

"Also Madeline, you said she wanted us to give it 'our own twist' right?"

"Yeah, why?" Said Madeline

"Well, I actually had a pretty funny idea. Because of my little 'misconception' of the word chocotorta... I was thinking, how about we make the cake in a dome-shaped pan, flip it upside-down, and decorate it to look like a tortoise!" Said Scarlett

"OMG, that's a great idea!" I yelled.

Everyone in the aisle looked over

Well that was an unnecessary call of attention >~<
