AU where he never became a hero
• Barry would be dating you at the time of the particle accelerator explosion; and he really was the perfect boyfriend to you
• There was a string of bank robberies soon after he awoke from his coma but nobody thought anything of it
• He doesn't tell you about his new hobby at first but he'd slip up one time and you'd catch something like a suitcase full of money bundles lying around his room
• He had some explaining to do
• Barry would eventually have to flee Central City to avoid suspicion but of course he'd drag you along with him
• He keeps on the down low though as Barry Allen, tending to stay at cheaper, unsuspicious hotels with you despite the fact he could afford a mansion or two at this time
• He was such a sap when he was alone with you though
• I mean, after a long day he just wanted some cuddles and a pay per view movie on the old, bulky hotel tv
• He likes knowing you're safe while he's out there being a menace
• You get really worried when he doesn't get back to you by the time he said he would be
• "You can't keep doing this, Bare!" You'd exclaim when he finally gets back. "I'd had no idea where you were or what you were up to this time. You make me a nervous wreck when you don't get home on time." At this point, these hotel rooms have become your home. "Well," Barry'd flash a cheeky grin up towards you as his head rests on your lap, your fingers tangled in his messy hair. "Punctuality's never really been my thing."
• Squeaking when you roughly tug his hair in response to him avoiding the subject. "Okay, okay I'll make sure to call you next time."
• No one suspects him because he walks around town wearing sweaters, with his arm wrapped protectively around your shoulders
• Extravagant gifts!!!
• Since he has to stay on the down low in shabby hotels, instead he lavishes you with jewelry, electronics, clothing, etc.
• He loved seeing you in expensive gowns with a diamond necklace around your neck
• Random excursions across the country
• "Pack up," He'd say. "Where to now?" "'M thinkin' either Paris or the place you were rambling about in Florida. What was it? Boca?" "Boca Raton." You corrected. "Yes, that. Gonna make you feel like a queen."
