I heard Aurora and Nick fooling around like they were still five, I chuckled at them. They were best friends and he was a boy, which somehow as a dad I accepted. Aurora was a blooming into a beautiful young lady and she was growing so fast, which meant I was getting older but I had my days. Sometimes I didn't like the fact Mia wouldn't tell Aurora what happened, she is old enough now to know this and she has to learn to protect herself against people like Scott. There are many people like him out there but Mia is scared that Aurora would hate her for moving and not telling her. But the longer she waits to tell her, the more hate Aurora will have

I heard Mia say something to Aurora and Nick about them still being five, again I chuckled. I started to walk down the stairs when the door bell rang, Mia headed to the door and she opened it. She looked shocked and once I seen who was at the door I was shocked too. Jet stood at the door, Mia looked worried. I walked over to Aurora and Nick, they didn't seem like they were paying attention but I know Aurora is smarter than that but then I seen their heads pop up

"What are you doing here?" Mia asked

I walked over to them

"Stay here." I whispered

After I said that I walked to the door to stand by Mia. I started holding Mia's waist and she had her hands together up to her chest. I knew she was having pains in her chest it could also be shock

"Please come in." I said

Officer Jet come in but he only stood at the door. He held his belt and he looked older than he did the last time, that was when Aurora was born. That was about 14 years ago. I still held Mia as Jet started to talk

"It's been a while."

"What do you want?" Mia asked as she glared

"I wanted to know if you want to do an interview, updating on how you are doing."

"No!" Mia hissed

"Are you kidding me? That is why were are here. That's why I dropped my life because I wanted none of this to get to my daughter and I wanted nothing more with it, I moved on."

"I'm sorry." He said

"Now leave before she starts asking questions." Mia said

Jet shrugged his shoulders and left without another word. Mia was about to break down and cry. I turned her around and hugged her tight

"It's alright." I said

"Go upstairs." I whispered in her ear

I hugged her and that's when we turned around and I walked towards the living room where Aurora and Nick were. I came up behind me and bent over the couch to see Aurora

"Me and your mom are going to talk, don't worry everything is alright. I promise." I said

I didn't want to worry her, I kissed her forehead and she made a sour face and I laughed. I walked away, I really didn't want her to worry because that was my problem. I walked up the stairs and went into my room and that's where Mia sat was on our bed. I gave her a hug and I sat down with her

"I think he was just checking up on us Mi." I said calmly

"I know but why now?"

"Mia it has been 14 years now, you have to remember he is the one that got us to you."

"I know."

"Mia you have to let what happened when Aurora was born go."

She nodded. After what happened to her she has been having a hard time letting go. That was one of the biggest challenges in our relationship. She hugged me back and she gave me a kiss. I pushed her down on the bed, I sat on her legs gently making sure I didn't hurt her and started to tickle her to make her smile, she started to giggle. I love her giggle
