Chapter 8

Amanda POV

I never expected that. Sure, he seemed emotionless at times and was calm while talking to me about the threat and their story back at their previous prison, but I never expected this level of authority. He lead the meeting like he's done it a thousand times. Nico and Thalia looked up to him as if he was the general of an army, with respect and loyalty. It seems they've always looked up to him to lead. He was a natural. Hell, he even shut Harley Quinn up.

After the meeting, Perseus walked up to me. "May I speak with you, Ms. Waller?"

"Of course Perseus."

"Percy, of you don't mind." I nodded my head and gesture for him to follow me. He sent a look over to his cousin's and they gave a short nod. He turned back to me and followed. From the corner of my eye, I saw Flag stand up and trail after us, Katana at his side.

We exited the room, made a right, and made our way through the hallways, past the cells, and arrived at my office. I unlocked my door and opened it, waiting for Percy to enter before me. I didn't trust him too much and I didn't want my back to him while walking into a room. Just a precaution. He walked in and stood to the left of the chair in front of my desk.

I entered the room with Flag and Katana behind me and made my way behind my desk. "You can sit down you know," I said as I sat down in my chair. "I prefer to stand, if you don't mind." I nodded my head as Flag stood on the right side of the desk, opposite Percy, with Katana by his side.

"What is it you want to talk to me about?" I asked.

He looked at me with a straight face and crossed his arms. "Weapons."

"What about weapons?" asked Flag.

"Well, as I have told you twice now, the monsters can only be killed with three types of metals. And, once again, I know for a fact that the government does not posses these metals. I know people who can bring us these weapons, but I need to contact them and I was wondering if you would allow me to."

"You want to use a phone to contact these people?"

"Preferably not a phone, and they're more friends than just people, but essentially, yes. If I can ask a friend of mine to forge special weapons for the team, then we have a shot at winning this war. And, though I'm not making any promises, I may be able to call in reinforcements."

I thought it over for a minute. We need all the help we can get and Percy seems very keen on helping out in this war and stopping it. I don't think he'd betray us, right? But, my concern as of now was, how in the hell was he going to contact these friends without using a phone? A damn pigeon?

"How exactly are you going to contact these 'friends' without a phone?" I voiced my thoughts. He seemed to contemplate before answering. "Its better of I just show you. Do you have our items from when we arrested?"

"Yes. James gave them to me to be transferred here along with your sentence and other disclosed information."

"Could you go to my items and get me a large gold coin. One side has the empire state building on it and the other side has a women's face."

I looked at Flag, silently asking him if he can go and get the requested item. After Flag left, Percy asked to see the folder of information. I asked why and he said so he could get to know the situation better, seeing as he only examined the pictures. I handed over the folder and it fell silent as he read. A few minutes later, Percy placed the folder back on the desk with a frustrated look on his face and Flag entered with the coin.

Percy asked if I had any water and I pointed to the mini fridge beside my desk that always contained water bottles. He opened the door and grabbed the bottle. While he unscrewed the cap, he walked behind my desk right beside my and opened the blinds to the window. I stood up from my chair and backed away from him, wondering what the hell he was doing. The sun was shining right in the window, seeing as it was the afternoon and my office faces the west. He held up the water and looked at the bottle. I saw some mist rise from the bottle and place itself right in front of the sun. A mini rainbow formed and Percy mumbled something I couldn't comprehend before tossing the coin into the rainbow.
