Meaning;
Play Date talks about Cry Baby feeling like she's just a friend and nothing more to someone who seems to not really care about her even though they get together quite regularly. she gets angrily, and tries to show she cares just as much, if not less, than him, and is tired of the games. she pretends not to care, and wishes she didn't have to chase after him. yet he's stuck in her head, contradicting herself. Eventually she gives up, and admits that she does care about him and their play dates.

Meaning;
Teddy Bear is about Cry Baby's boyfriend, who's relationship was built on love and kindness. Eventually, her Teddy Bear begins to act weirdly, and Cry Baby starts to loose trust and hope in him. Eventually, her Teddy Bear tries to kill her, and Cry Baby can't understand where their relationship went wrong, which is what Teddy Bear is about. Talking about how their relationship starts getting worse and scarier.

Cake is the third deluxe track on Melanie Martinez's Cry Baby album, it is also known as track 16. it was released with the album on August 14th, 2015, and is a part of the Crybaby Extra Clutter EP. There is no music video for Cake.

Cake is about a boy who could easily be in a relationship with Cry Baby yet chooses to play with her. He thinks of her as 'cake' while she sings about why she loves him, yet she refuses to let him fool around with her and then leave her alone. Cry Baby would not let him discard her, she uses him in return, saying he's just a piece of meat. She realizes she deserves better and that she can easily throw him away, whereas because she is 'cake' she's harder to throw away because of her looks and taste.
