Seventeen a daydream, seventeen a dreading.
Seventeen is not just a digit or a number,
But an infinity that coloured my slumber.
It was a warm iceberg of memories
lying above the sea,
When underneath the water
was a calamitous, forgotten dream.

My Sanity sunk away like
the sand gushed down past my fingers.
However, The ground made me feel
grateful for keeping me still,
The sun made me feel hopeful
when the world started to peel,
Healing my skin from the scars
hiding inside my bones,
Just to tell me that when I sing, it shines, it glows.

Though, the carousel of life excited me
to dance until my knees felt weak,
The firework in a night sky was an epitome
of joy I discovered brick by brick,
I found a new world of mine
when I leafed through the books,
And my dreams turned real,
when the real was unraveling the truths.

I realised that after the lifeless winds
passed through the cold desert,
The sky looked prettier when the sun
melted across the horizon to comfort,
My soul, and a thin surface of water
was seen from a distance,
I swimmed through the water
to lose my self,
To lose my weaken soul in the mirage,
To keep myself safe and insane,
when I completely camouflaged.
Seventeen a daydream, seventeen a dreading.
