So basically Maxine's brother died while exploring in the forest at night (the doofus) so she wants someone to blame it on. She brings his friend Charles along to look for murder clues but in the end she accepts defeat, and being reminded that she can see him again, gains closure.
(Hopefully my teacher doesn't think my plot line is boring AGAIN and makes me scrap it AGAIN)
