(So every time I listen to a song I relate it to a fandom in some way or another. I guess this is a fic, it's kind of following my train of thought when I listen to a song just less all over the place. This one is Gold by Imagine Dragons.)

First comes a blessing of all that you've dreamed,

Mark's eyes glinted as he held the paycheck. The paycheck made out to Markiplier. A grin spread across his face, genuine and pure. He'd done it. He was an actor, a successful one!

But then comes the curses of diamonds and rings.

"Do you really need all of this?" Damien asked as Mark continued shopping. Mark chuckled.

"Most of it's for Celine, to celebrate our engagement."

Damien frowned as Mark picked up a crystal ball and examined it. He watched the actor pay for it and couldn't help feeling that his wealth would do more harm then good.

Only at first did it have it's appeal,

Mark followed along, his expression painted with boredom. Celine picked up a necklace and practically threw it at him. He just barely caught it, his hands already filled with other expensive items. He watched as a shop set up in a dark corner caught his wife's eye. The sign that hung above the shop read The Dealings of the Dark Arts.

But now you can't tell the false from the real.

"I can't keep doing this, Celine!" Mark shouted, finally snapping. Celine froze, her constant mocking and belittling freezing with her. Mark took a deep breath. "I just...you aren't the same. You used to be so kind and caring and now...I just don't know if you really love me anymore." An image passed through Mark's head, of Celine tossing him aside for someone else. "I need to know that we're still real. That we're really together."

Celine walked over and pulled Mark into a hug. "Of course we are darling," she whispered. Mark hugged her back, but he couldn't shake the feeling that her words were empty lies.

Who can you trust?                                                                                                                                                        Who can you trust ?

Mark caught Celine staring at William with something more than interest. Something more than longing.

He couldn't remember her ever looking at him like that. He felt jealousy flare up in his chest but he squashed it down. Celine was his wife, William was his best friend. He had nothing to worry about.

Did he?

(So it's not the whole song but this was my first attempt at a song fic and I quite like it.)
