I was sorta tagged by autumn_sunfire but I think this was basically me asking if I could or not 😂.

For this, name off your top five character portrayals in film and television. Not because you like the actor or because you the like character, but because you like the way they are portrayed.

In no particular order:

Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs.

Out of all the characters that will be listed, this one probably fits the tag best for me

Out of all the characters that will be listed, this one probably fits the tag best for me. Let me be clear: I have never seen more than 15 minutes of this movie at a time, and whenever I do wind up watching it, it's always cut.

This character is terrifying.

I totally dislike him. He's a nutcase who freaks me out every few minutes I see. Lemme say this, if I liked the character, y'all have permission to be scared of me.

You know it's a good villain when after two minutes of screen time, your only response is NOPE PEOPLE WHY ARE YOU EVEN NEAR THIS GUY GET AWAY!

If an portrayal of a character can make me genuinely scared, he or she is doing it right.

Jeremy Irons as Scar from The Lion King

A hip, skip, and a boat ride away from Lecter is Scar

A hip, skip, and a boat ride away from Lecter is Scar. I just can't help it with this guy, er, lion. He's done in such a way I just love to hate him. Evil? Sure. Killed his bro? Yep. Fooled his nephew into thinking it was his fault his dad died and that he had to run away? Uh-huh, definitely.

All of that is completely hateable.

There are just so many ways for this specific character to fall flat. Be a villain and have nothing else to him but evilness. But yet he is given jealousy, sarcasm, manipulation skills (that ultimately land him a dinner he wouldn't forget for the rest of his life), and just cat. He's a great big evil cat, alright?

Tom Hiddleson as Loki in the MCU

*hides from comments until I see Infinity War bc for once in my life, I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS UNTIL I SEE IT*

This guy pretty much falls under what I said about Scar. He's a definite villain, but he's more of a chaotic neutral type villain in everything past Thor and Avengers. I mean, I don't brush past the deaths of 800 people in 2 days +, but dang can this character be analyzed. I'm almost 100% sure that if he'd been portrayed any differently, he wouldn't be the Norse god of mischief, he'd be some guy to brings along alien armies to take control of New York.

Billy Burke as Philip Stroh in Major Crimes

Okay, so I need to get a not-villain-sicko in here soon

Okay, so I need to get a not-villain-sicko in here soon. All of these guys so far are nutcases.

Here's another who stands right along side Hannibal the Cannibal.

Every. Time. He. Showed. Up. On. Television. I. Screamed. At. The. Idiots.

Not many characters and actors can make me do that!

He nails creepy head on. If this guy wasn't acted right, he'd be a bit ridiculous, but as it is...😨

I'll admit, when Capaldi started with 12, I wasn't a big fan

I'll admit, when Capaldi started with 12, I wasn't a big fan.

Up until that point, I'd liked 10's character and 11's personality the most, but hadn't settled on a complete favorite.

Until the part where he was minus a companion. From then on out, I finally understood which direction Capaldi had taken him.

Now, I won't say Clara was bad. She was GREAT. She was what helped his overall character development into where he stayed.

For once, the Doctor was more of a friend than a romantic interest.

Both 9 and 10 had Rose. 10 also had Martha, but that went nowhere. 11 had Amy (for a one-sided, short while). Then he got married and River went poof for a little while.

That was when 12 came in and when 12 showed who he was. Capaldi kept him as a man who had lost too much and didn't want to lose more, but acted as though he just didn't care at first. He wants to help people, but knows in all certainty he simply can't.

That's what makes this character and actors one of my favorite combinations. It could be so simple to go with the east option for the show, yet they didn't.

I could probably name a few more, but will spare y'all the geek that is about to take over.
