It’s 6:08 pm, and just like every other Thursday at 6:08 pm, Mel is walking her dog and Libby is out for quick jog before she has pull a graveyard shift in the pediatric ward.

And just like every other Thursday at 6:08 pm, Mel and Libby not-so-coincidentally cross paths.

And just like every other Thursday at 6:37 pm, Libby realizes that she’ll be late for work if she doesn’t stop talking to Mel. But she talks to her for another ten minutes anyway, because Mel makes Libby feel like she can conquer the world and run a marathon and make her eyeliner perfectly even, and every other impossible thing.

But this Thursday at 6:49 pm, when Mel is turning to leave, Libby suddenly blurts, “Look, I – uh – I, uh, uh, know that you’re probably not gay and probably don’t think I’m hot or cute or anything, but you make me believe that perfect people exist and I –“

Libby can’t finish her thought, or even remember what that thought might be, because Mel is kissing her, and that’s more important than anything she could possibly want to say.

Next Thursday at 6:08 pm, they're holding hands.
