CHAPTER 13

DOES HAPPY endings exist? probably not for the girl because the moment she walked downstairs with jeongguk, she was greeted by the devil herself.

"mother." the girl was surprised, so was jeongguk who's arm was on the girl's shoulder while hers were around his waist.

the girl watches as her sister narrowed her eyes at the two of them before glaring at the girl.

"hello soeun." the girl head snapped over to the familiar voice, her brother. "jimin." the girl eyes soften.

she has always been close to her brother than anyone in the household, seeing him again made her realise how much she missed him.

"come sit, you two." the two of them moved over to the empty seat and sat down, awkwardly.

"why are you guys here?" the girl head snapped over to jeongguk who asked the question.

"it's soeun's mother death anniversary." the park siblings glared at their step mother who had a smile on her face.

"and also my daughter, eunsoo here has been dying to see you." the girl held back an eye roll at her step mother.

"well I'm not." the boy was answer was really straightforward and it caught the devil off guard.

the girl wanted to laugh at her step sister's face but all she did was let out a awkward cough.

"soeun." the girl turned to the voice who called her, it was jeongguk who had his arm up, looking for soeun.

"yes?" the girl grabbed him hand, placing it down on the table. "I want to head to the art room."

the girl nodded and stood up, not forgetting to help the boy up as well, "we'll be leaving now."

the girl felt the annoyance coming from her step family and it made her heart ached, why couldn't they just let her be happy?

the way back to the art room was peaceful for the two, until one certain maid decided it was a great idea to bump into the girl with a bucket full of dirty water.

a loud gasps was let out from the girl's mouth as she stumbled backwards from the impact and the pain.

the edges of the bucket had slammed against the girl's rip cage, the aching pain was unbearable.

"soeun! are you okay?" jeongguk kneeled down, holding onto the girl's hand.

"I'm okay, it just hurts a lot." the girl bites her lips trying not to cry and scream from the amount of pain that was going through her lungs and rip cage.

then she felt it, something that she haven't felt in years; her lungs were tightening in her rip cage.

the girl desperately gasped for air but it wasn't really helping, then she hear the boy's loud scream for his mother and her name.

"SOEUN! MOM!" the girl lay on the floor, clutching onto her chest while gasping for air.

footsteps echoed the hallway, people were running towards her; "what's happening?" mrs.jeon asked.

"she's having an asthma attack!" her brother screamed, before desperately looking through his pocket.

the girl grabbed her brother's hand bringing it to her lips along with the familiar blue tube.

"you're alright." the girl lay in her brother's embrace, tears rolled down slowly.

jeongguk let down a sigh relief as he heard the noise slowly died, along with mrs.jeon who had her palm on her chest.

"you're okay." the girl shut her eyes as her brother place a soft kiss on the crown of her head.
