Reese woke up on the sectional, tightly clutching one of his beloved, squishy cushions. The high noon sunshine nearly blinded him as it beamed in through the large bay window that overlooked the city. He groaned and threw his arms up to shield his eyes from the stabbing light.

He laid there for a moment and considered more sleep but that's when his eyes popped wide open and he sat straight up.

" Holy fuck..! Caylem!"

Reese's feet hit the floor like lead weights as he raced to the mud room.
Pulling on his shoes, and a light, black jacket.

He grabbed his phone and spare house key just seconds before he locked the door behind him and bolted out of the apartment.

Reese snatched his phone up out of his pocket as he raced down the stairs to the elevator. He ran his fingers through his hair hoping that it was just enough to make him look half way decent. He fidgeted impatiently as he dialed Caylems number, hoping to reach him before reaching street level.

"Hello? "
Caylem answered

The elevator door opens, Reese bolted out and through the entry doors of the apartment building, racing down the sidewalk.

"Caylem! Hey! I'm on my way over now, I'm sorry, I took a nap and over slept."

Reese apologized as he dodged traffic and people, ignoring the blaring honks and the ' Hey! Watch where you're going!'s from people he darted past.

Caylem chuckled.

"Reese, you act like I'm gonna be angry with you! I'm still at the shop, and I have fifteen minutes until my lunch break. So, just slow down! Don't hurt yourself or anyone else, okay?"

Reese slowed down gradually. But continued walking at a fast pace.

" Right, yeah.. sorry. I was just worried I would miss out on seeing you again."

Reese explained.

" Reese, really, it's fine! We would have met up tonight regardless of you being late or not.
I was invited over to Barnaby's tonight for dinner.
Turns out Barnaby got one of his employees to take over for him tonight. He sounded pretty relieved."

Reese paused and questioned shortly after Caylems explanation.

" So we all get to spend time together for the first time in 3 years..?"

Reese continued.

" Well, yeah.. if you're alright with that?"

Added Caylem.

"Of course I am!.."

Reese shouted excitedly, as he rounded the final corner to the flower shop.

"I'll see you in a few minutes, Cay.. "

He added.

" Alright, see ya!"

Caylem smiled.

Reese took a deep breath and calmed himself. It was like he had never met Caylem before. The two had been friends since the first grade. Why? Why all of sudden does his stomach wrench and churn with the all too familar, 'butterflies' feeling?

He chalked it up to it just being his nerves and finally arrived at the florist's shop front. He pulled the glass door open. The scent of flowers literally punching him in the face, but he rather enjoyed it....once his sense of smell was shot to a million, microscopic pieces.

Caylem came out down from his apartment. The brunette smiled at his dark haired friend.

" Reese... It's been a while "
