Chapter 6

Riley's P.O.V

I woke up to Nathan still softly snoring beside me I smiled and did my morning routine and walked downstairs to get some breakfast. Once that was done I watched as Nathan came down the stairs and walked over to me kissing me on the cheek.

"Hey baby" he smiled at me

"Hi" I smile back pushing a piece of hair out of my face

"I'd love to stay and chat but I'm going to run to the mall with my sister and Bri" I say turning to walkaway

"Have fun I love you" he calls after me

I turn around on my heels smiling " I love you too"

When we got to the mall I sped off to H&M to get some new crops and jeans. I've always loved their clothes it could range anywhere from innocent church girl to bad girl gone horrible and I loved it. After we were done there we went to Starbucks so Tessa could get the drink she had been nagging me and Brianna to take her to get all morning. Sometimes I swear I'm the big sister in the relationship.

"So Riles he treats you right?" Brianna asked seriously

"Like gold actually, and he is such a nice guy" I smile at the thought of Nathan

"Good because if not we both know what happens..." Bri started again

"Yeah us on his tail" my sister commented taking another gulp other drink

"I don't think you'll have to worry about it" I smile thinking of how good he treats me

I walk into the house and go to my room to drop off my bags and touch up my makeup. I didn't think anyone was home so I went downstairs to the piano and started to play a melody. then an idea popped into my head, I ran to grab my camera and I set it up in front of the piano and pressed record.

"Hey guys what's up? It's me Riley and today I've decided to finally sing a cover for you guys because everyone's been begging for it soo I give the people what they want. Anyway here's a slowed down piano version of the song riptide by Vance Joy." I started to play and let the music take control of my body and mind. Once I was done I heard clapping I turned around and was faced with Kade and Jake.

"Oh hey guys what's up?" I asked biting my lip from the nervousness I was feeling

"what was that?" Jake asked me clicking the off button on the camera and looking at the footage I just got

"dude you can sing?" Kade asked confused

"I mean yeah but don't tell anyone" I said snatching the camera away from Jake's hands

"does Nathan know?" Jake questioned

"no and he won't because no ones telling him got it?" I asked glaring at Jake and Kade

"okay" they both mumbled

I walked upstairs and edited the footage but I didn't post it. I never have. I have recorded like a million covers on my camera and have them all backed up on my laptop. I'm afraid of being judged no matter how many people think I'm a good singer it stresses me out to know that there's a video of me online that is constantly being critiqued by others. I sigh and get up starting to clean my room. I hear everyone come home but still I stay in my room and watch Netflix with the pizza I had ordered just before they had all arrived. A couple hours later I hear a small knock on my door I get up to open it.

"Hey Tony...what's up?" I ask as he pushes past me to the middle of the room

"Riley I'm your friend and anything that would possibly hurt you I would warn you about so you might wanna sit down" he said pacing back and forth and stopping to gesture me towards my bed

"Tony you're freaking me out" I say slowly and quietly

"If you go downstairs Nathan is gonna be there.." he starts to say

"Okay and?" I ask confused

"he's in the bathroom hooking up with some girl named Vanessa" he trailed off

"what?..."I ask tearing up

"Riley.." he starts

"no Anthony stop trying to fool with my mind like this okay, it stresses me out" I cry

I walk out the door and turn to go down the hall to the bathroom

"Riley stop" Tony yells

I keep walking I hear muffled noises coming from the bathroom along with shuffling around. I pry the door open and Nathan is standing there with a girl hugged into his chest... HIS NAKED CHEST. I started to break

"Nathan?" I ask

"Riley it's not what it looks like please let me explain" Nathan pleads trying to push the girl off of him

"Jake!" I yell

he comes in and looks at Nathan and this girl.

"Dude..." he trails off

"no Jake its really not what it looks like" Nathan says pleading

"Yeah Jake it's really not" the girl speaks

She then turns around and I realize it's Chance. Jake, Nathan, Chance and Tony start laughing as I cry

"You guys are cruel" I walk out get in the car and drive away. you know what fuck them they re assholes... but it was just a joke maybe I should go ba....*CRASH*

Nathan's P.O.V

"Maybe that was too harsh" Jake spoke up

my phone rang and I left the room

"Hello?" I spoke into the phone

"Yes is this Nathan Speiser?" the male voice asked

"yes it is" I answered

" I'm very sorry to tell you but your girlfriend was just involved in a very serious car crash and you and any other family is requested at the hospital immediately." he says calmly

"okay we'll be there right away thanks" I scurry into the living room

"someone call Tessa, Riley's in the hospital come on lets go" I say

"What?" Jake asked

" COME ON" I yell panicking

Oh Riley this is all my fault.....
