I take a step outside Sayori's house, closing the door behind me. Taking a few steps out into her front sidewalk, I look up to the morning sky.

It's almost split directly in half, a sharp contrast of calm and dark. To the left towards the school is bright and calm, with a gentle breeze blowing leaves onto the street. Birds and such chirp and fly around, pecking around at the light debris. The right is the complete opposite however, with dark almost black clouds blanketing the whole sky. I see trees being whipped around more aggressively, branches being blown into the street and trash cans being knocked over onto their sides. There is no wildlife to see, only a lonely blank street. It's quite menacing.

I furrow my brow a bit, still looking up towards the divide. A cool breeze sweeps across me, bringing a slight chill to me.

"I wonder which side will win out...?"

   "(Y/N)!"

Sayori appears from her front door, closing it and locking it behind her. She skips a few steps towards me, twirling around in the breeze. It looks like Sayori actually took the time to get ready today, her hair brushed and styled, and her clothes unwrinkled.

She beams her smile at me, although something about her look is a bit different. I peer closer for a second, her lips seeming a different shade of pink today, is that lipstick..?

   "Woooah, look (Y/N)!"

Sayori's words snap me out of my thoughts as usual, as she points up towards the sky. The same divide is there, the storm clouds clashing with the lightness on she other side.

'Yeah, pretty crazy right?" I say, standing beside her.

"Mhm.." she pauses for a moment, gazing at the dark side. "Spooky.."

I look at it some more with her for a second, looking at my watch to check the time. It was almost 7:30.

"Come on silly, we gotta get going." I say, opening the gate for us to depart. It takes her a second, but she eventually looks away and walks out her gate, us continuing on down the street. She looks back at the dark clouds again for a moment, letting out a sigh.

   "Everything alright Sayori?" I ask.

"Yeah.. I just don't like storms. A little rain is good, it's like calming and stuff, but thunder scares me.." She furrows her brow, looking back down towards the sidewalk.

"Aww, it'll be alright, it shouldn't get that bad." I say, patting her on the shoulder. I chuckle a bit. "Although the thought of you hiding under the bed at the sound of thunder like a puppy is pretty funny."

She quickly flashes me an annoyed look, sticking her tongue out at me. I reply with the same, us both laughing.

    "Oh haha, meanie.."

We continue down the street, making small talk here and there. We're soon joined on the sidewalk by other small groups of fellow students, each chattering away about their own things. Neither me or Sayori are a big fan of crowds, so we tend to just slow day our walk a bit so we aren't caught up in it all, and we do.

After a bit we pass a small park to the left of us. It's trees are in full bloom, their small flowers spreading out in all directions. The lawn is well kept and mowed, and a small playground is kept in the middle of it. A few children clamber up the many slides, as well as running around. I hear Sayori chuckle a bit from beside me, and I look over at her, a small smile on her lips.

"Remember this park (Y/N)? It's the one we always used to play on as kids!"

I shift my gaze over, flashes of memories coming back to me as I look at the different playground equipment.
