FIRST ENCOUNTER

AT AGE 5

"Who are you?" The freckled boy asked the chocolate eyed boy.

"Who are you, is the real question," He replied.

"Hmm... Lets have nicknames for each other! You can be Peach Fuzz," The other announced.

"Then you can be freckles," Peach Fuzz responded.

"It's settled then... so are you supposed to be that imaginary friend everyone has at this age?" Freckles asked.

"Well, I'm certainly real. You must be the imaginary one," Peach Fuzz answered.

"I'm real! I guess we both are, but why are we sharing dreams?"

"I dunno, maybe magic?!" Peach Fuzz began to get excited.

"Maybe! Does that mean we have powers like in those movies?"

"I guess so,"

"This is so fun!"

"And cool!"

The two each told the other people at their separate schools, but nobody believed them.

AT AGE 10

"Freckles, my mom and I are sick,"
Peach Fuzz sighed.

"I hope you two feel better," Freckles said, spacing out.

"I'm just worried we'll die. Even if I don't, what if she does? Where will my brother and I go?" Peach Fuzz questioned, worried.

"I'm sure everything will be fine. If you ever feel sad just go to sleep and you'll have me," Freckles reassured him.

"Thanks, I don't know what I would do without you,"

"Anytime," Freckles softly smiled.

AT AGE 14

Freckles began to fall in love with Peach Fuzz. Though, he knew it would never work out in the end.

'Stop being so foolish, you don't even know if he's real. And even if he is, you don't know his name anyway! Give it up," He told himself.

Even though he had to hide his love, he still looked forward to their visits in each other's dreams. Until one day, Peach Fuzz never showed up. His visits had become quite scarce, but he would at least come eventually.

After that, Peach Fuzz barely visited Freckles dreams. As the year ended, his visits were more infrequent than ever.

"I guess I've grown up, I guess I can't have him as an imaginary friend anymore. I hate growing up," Freckles cursed his beliefs.

However, that simply wasn't the case. Peach Fuzz would always stay up late writing, completely forgetting about Freckles.

Peach Fuzz had already given up on the idea of Freckles being real, so he didn't really care much.

Little did he know, someday they would meet, and both be proven wrong.
