Walking down Hollywood Boulevard for the first time was probably one of the most breathtaking experiences. You used to live in a small town in northern California, never really traveling anywhere until you graduated high school and got accepted into UCLA. You graduated about two years earlier than most kids because your parents enrolled you into school one year early, and due to your stellar intellect at a younger age, you were able to skip 3rd grade.
Since it was a Tuesday in spring, not many people were wandering the streets compared to the amount of people in summer. Mostly just students on spring break and residents that lived in the area. It wasn't too hot so you wore a white tank top, shorts, and brought your blue UCLA varisty jacket, finishing the look with some sunglasses and white Vans.
You press the button to walk across the street while your eyes wander to the flashy stores and the bronze stars that decorated the granite floor. Just as you were about to cross the street to visit Madame Tussauds and grab a bite to eat, you feel a light tap on my shoulder. You turn around only to see a bright red rose tied with a pink ribbon. Trailing up the arm that was holding it out, your eyes meet chocolate brown eyes and tousled brown hair.
"Hello," you greet, smiling shyly at him.
"Hello, how are you? What's your name?" He asks politely, bringing up his other hand for you to shake.
"(Y/N)." You reply, shaking his warm hand.
"Nice to meet you, (Y/N). I'm Zach. I actually got you a rose. I thought you were really beautiful."
You blush at his compliment, clearly not used to receiving them. You take the rose from him, smelling it before he continued.
"I was wondering if I could sing you a song."
"I, uh, yeah of course absolutely." You ramble, your shyness beginning to peek through.
"Alright cool." He took a step back, preparing to sing.
"Take the time with me tonight. You should come with me tonight." His voice was absolutely gorgeous, how the notes flowed together to create a perfect harmony. Suddenly, four other boys appeared, one holding a guitar and started singing together. Being surprised was an understatement. You couldn't comprehend why this was happening but it was. You closed your eyes, nodding your head to the song they were singing. They were really good, like, really really good.
When they sang out the last melodious note, you erupt into applause, careful not to crush the rose in the process. They all dramatically bow and begin to slowly leave, one by one, conversing among themselves and exchanging high fives. You turn around to press the crosswalk light again when you once again feel a tap on the shoulder.
"Hey (Y/N), I was wondering if I could maybe get your phone number? You're just gorgeous and I wanted to get to know you better and..." Zach nervously rambles on. You smile at his adorable antics. You place a finger on his lips, successfully shutting him up.
"How about if you take me on a date instead, I'll tell you all about me." You giggle as he begins to nod furiously.
"Deal."
