 okay so long story short y'all made my life fuckin difficult. i hope you're happy. but, simultaneously, you made my life absolutely wonderful because i can't even tell you how much fun it is to watch someone else write your own characters. granted, it's embarrassing when that someone writes your characters far better than you (as pretty much all of you did), but hey ho. my point stands.

deciding this took a lot of um-ing and ah-ing and also asking various people their opinions and getting angry because i'm indecisive. i got there in the end.

anyway let's go before you get bored. i did fourth, third, second and first places, fyi. fourth third and second all get an au one-shot of their choice, and first gets any one-shot of their choice. i'll be posting those here. so basically everyone's a winner because yep i'm writing these babes again just maybe as pirates or wizards or detectives or high-profile criminals WHO KNOWs.

FOURTH

i remember that i got this one very early on in this competition and it done KILLED ME TO DEATH. i only judged lydia's first one to be part of the competition (the others were just fun to read), but MAN was it great. gorgeously written, featured one of my fave musicals (MATILDA THO), and i think what may have really tipped me was that it was all set in my hometown (that's london, btw). reading about allison and toby attempting valiantly to cope with the perils of the london underground ignited a happiness deep within my cold, dead soul. absolutely nothing i didn't like, a++++.

 

THIRD

OKAY bASICALLY THE THING WITH SYDNEY IS SHE KNOWS HER BROADWAY BACK TO FRONT (if u couldn't tell from the username), and that BASICALLY SOLD ME. because like everywhere i looked there were LEGALLY BLONDE references and WICKED references and RENT references and IF/THEN AND FROZEN AND MAMMA MIA AND BASICALLY SYDNEY DONE KILLED ME because the best part was it was all so smooth like she'd just slip it in and u also had to be a broadway nerd to get them AND WE WERE SPEAKING OUR OWN LANGUAGE i twas GREAT. in other news this basically made me ship laura and lydia too fuckin hard and LITERALLY THE BEST PART (i freaked out about this in the comments section too) was when THEY QUOTED THE TANGO MAUREEN. just CASUALLY. do u ever cry. also idina menzel showed up that killed me. and the whole thing was so beautifully written and characterised and i was like??? no thanks but in a good way because she's in third sydney u are a STAR
