[ROY'S POV]

we had just left melrose with a couple of bags in our hands. the air was getting chilly and the sky started turning into a tint of orange. the sunset always looks amazing against the californian palm trees reaching the sky.

kendall and i were sitting on a random, beaten down bench, eating ice cream.

"you have an ice cream mustache on your lip" i laughed.

"what?!" she whipped out her iphone camera to check. we both started laughing at her. she made weird faces into the camera and we took goofy selfies together.

god, she's cute.

it might be too early to even think this but i just felt like everything comes naturally with her. we just clicked. i never felt like i had to try to impress her or anything.

"roy?"

"yes, kendall."

"can we go get real food? this ice cream is not very filling" she said, wiping off her mustache.

as we hopped into my car, she asked, "so where are you taking me?"

"guess."

"i don't know!"

"just guess, kendall!"

"ok, fine. um... in-n-out..?"

"oh my god. how did you know?"

here's a secret: i didn't actually know where i was taking her. i just let her guess, knowing her first guess must be where she wants to go.

the whole car ride we jammed out to brockhampton. i learned that kendall's favorite brockhampton song is hottie.

she was just so adorable, dancing around in the front seat. sometimes i just couldn't resist taking my eyes off the road. wow, i'm so fucking cheesy.

as we got to in-n-out, we noticed the air was significantly windier and colder. i noticed kendall rubbing her arms to keep herself warm. after all, she only had on an off-the-shoulder top or whatever girls call it.

"here, take this." i gave her my white purdy gang hoodie, leaving on a purple supreme t-shirt.

"no! you're gonna be cold" she protested.

"nah, i'm fine."

"okay, i guess. how could i ever resist some purdy gang merch?" she laughed.

"oouu oouu work that purdy gang merch!" i cheered, hyping her up. she couldn't help but smile and giggle.

god, i fucking love her smile. especially when i'm the one that made her smile.

"okay, let's go get some good ass burgers now. i'm hungry as fuck" she said, groaning.

[KENDALL'S POV]

today was one of the most fun days ever. my happiness was beyond the roof.

well, yeah i was very excited that i got a bunch of cute vintage clothes from the melrose trading post but that's not it.

it's roy.

he just made me so happy. he gives off such a good vibe when i'm around him. he was always hyping me up, telling me i'd look good in every piece of clothing i picked up. i noticed he was extremely caring too. when we were heading to get ice cream, he even asked to make sure i'm not lactose intolerant. thank goodness i'm not because ice cream is the best thing ever.

we had just gotten back to my house in venice that i share with my friend and roommate, anna.

"i didn't know you live in venice" roy said, walking me to the door and holding my bags of clothes.

"well, that's because i never told you until now, dummy" i playfully rolled my eyes at him.

"well, i love skating here."

"so you should come back!"

"definitely will now that i know you're here." he winked. not the sexy wink, but the dorky wink.

"oh, shut up."

there was a short pause, yet the silence made it seem like 10 awkward years. we just stood there, staring at our feet.

i noticed he doodled on his green vans. aw, he's so cute.

"thank you for taking me to melrose today," i said, breaking the silence.

"yeah, no problem. it was fun," roy said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. he was still awkwardly looking down.

"we need to hang out again soon. maybe i'll give that peanut butter and banana sandwich a try."

"on whole wheat?"

"on whole wheat."

we both broke out into a laughter. roy didn't seem nervous anymore. he opened his arms and we hugged as i continued to laugh into his chest.

"thanks again," i said quietly, still in his arms.

"anything for you, baby."

oh my god, did he just call me baby? whatever, i decided to ignore it and play it cool. hopefully, he didn't feel my heartbeat racing as if i was about to die.

"text me when you get home safely, okay?" i said, breaking the hug.

"of course."

"alright."

"we're still on for coachella?"

"totally."

"alright."

"okay. bye, roy."

"bye," he said, giving me a little smile as he climbed into his car.

i couldn't help but grin ear to ear as i walk into my house. he really did just call me baby, didn't he... fuck.

oh, and of course i kept his hoodie.
