You were on your way home after you watched the school's male volleyball team practice their volleyball skills. You knew that the moment you came home both of your parents would be arguing and it would end up into them screaming about a divorce, and your mom crying in her room, and your dad sleeping on the couch tonight.
You started to tear up from the thought of it, but before your teary eyes turned into sobs you turned around when you heard a familiar voice. You didn't know who it was at first but then you realized it was the guy you had a HUGE crush on since your first year. Asahi Azume.
You turned around teary-eyed, and started to sob. You looked down at the ground with your hands covering your face so that way he couldn't see you in such a horrible state. When you turned around to start running home he grabbed your arm, his hand sliding down to your hand and he gripped it tightly. You forcefully snagged your hand away and instantly regretted it.
You ran straight home and almost tripped on the concrete stairs up to the front door. You slowly walk in to find your mother sobbing and your father nowhere to be found. ''He wants a divorce. He ran off, I-I-I don't know where he went. I'm so-so-so s-sorry (Y/n)....'' You went up to your mother and grabbed both of her hands and put them in yours.
Your mother looked up at your surprised but also not surprised to find tears falling from your cheeks. Then you started to sob into her chest.
After that night you never saw your father ever again. You basically cried yourself to sleep last night and woke up super tired. You fell asleep in math and you got after school detention. When you finally got out of detention you headed straight towards the gym. Practice was almost over but you didn't care. You would still watch them practice no matter what.
When practice was finally over Asahi walked over to you and offered to walk you home. You gratefully accepted his offer and you two headed out of the gym together. He grabbed your hand while you two were walking and your face turned red, and your heart beating faster every second that passed by. ''(Y/n), What's going on at home?'' Then you immediately stopped in your tracks and carefully turned around to face him.
You started to tear up, and you ran into his chest, gripping his shirt tightly. ''My parents are getting a divorce. Before that, I would come home every damn night to find my parents fighting about every little or big thing they could think about, and they just take their anger out on each other, even if it's in front of me. My mom would sometimes not make my dad dinner.I'm tired of finding my mom sleeping in a separate room and my dad sleeping on the couch, or my mom crying while my dad left the house to go drinking.''
You started sobbing again, but he grabbed your cheeks and brought you into a loving kiss which made your heart melt in an instant. ''(Y/n)...I love you, I hate to see you sad. You parents might leave you but I never will..''
And he was telling the truth, and you knew that.....
