Lucy came home from school. She just got off the bus. She unlocked the door with her key, and walked inside. "Mom, I'm home!" she said. There was no answer. "Mom?" she called. Still, no answer. She walked upstairs to her room, so she can take off her black Keds, and just take a minute to unwind. "Where is Mom?" she wondered. "She is usually home at this time."
Lucy came back downstairs to the kitchen. It was then, that she discovered a chocolate cake, loaded with chocolate frosting. She loved chocolate cake so much. Her mom must have baked it while she was in school. Lucy was about to get a fork, but something popped into her mind. Was the cake for her, or for her mom?
Lucy thought long and hard about this. She didn't want to eat the cake if it was for her mom. She didn't want to make her upset.
