A/N:
Hiii everyone! This chapter is an example of a time lapse, where there was a significant amount of time between the end of the last chapter and the beginning of this one. You should be able to catch on to how long it's been and when there's a time lapse, but I'll warn you most times because this will occur frequently. Enjoy!

“Can I run something past you, Ray?” Daisy asked me, taking a seat on the bed. We were both freshly showered and getting ready for our last night in Mexico. Spring Break had flown by. We spent most nights at different clubs and Blake accompanied us almost every single night to wherever we decided to go. He had been really nice this whole trip and I took a liking in him. I’d really miss him once we left and I hoped I’d be able to visit New Jersey or him to visit Pittsburgh.
“Sure,” I said, pulling a pale yellow sundress over my head.
“Since tonight is our last night to go out and for you to be completely free, I really want to see Aaron again.” She hesitated and attempted to read my expression as I clasped a necklace with big blue gems around my neck before she continued, “Now, don’t get me wrong, I know you hate Harry and don’t want to be around him so if Blake-”
“I’ll go with you,” I cut her off, running a tube of lipgloss over my bottom lip.
“Are you sure?” She asked.
“Of course. It’ll be fun.” I turned to look at her shocked expression from my words. “Tonight is the last night I’ll ever have to come in contact with Harry so I might as well ignore his shit and make the best out of it.”
She jumped from the bed and pulled me into a hug, “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” She squealed. I giggled and removed myself from her grip.
“Now just fishtail my hair.” I told her.
Once she was finished braiding my hair, I stood up and put my shoes on. Brown gladiator sandals. Daisy touched up her dark make up and pulled a black, cut-up tank top over her red bra which was seen clearly from the arm holes that opened from her shoulder to her waist. She then tugged on a pair of denim shorts and her all-black high top Converse. Deja vu. She made me wear those the first night of this trip.
“Are we still meeting Blake for dinner?” Daisy asked me as we stepped on to the elevator.
“Yeah, he said he’d be there by now and I think he’s actually bringing his friend this time. I think we’re just going to pool-side.” I said. She nodded and we walked outside and to the pool-side restaurant once the elevator reached the bottom floor.
Blake and a blonde haired boy were sat at a table. Daisy and I made our way to them and Blake showed me his best smile before quickly pecking me on the lips. I took the seat across from him.
“Ray, Daisy, this is my buddy Niall.” He informed us, looking over to his smiling friend. Niall looked back at Blake before turning to us.
“Nice to meet you girls. Niall Horan.” He told us through a thick Irish brogue.
“Reina Higgins, but call me Ray.” I shook his hand as he held it out to me.
“Daisy Wilson.” Daisy introduced herself, showing her best smile.
The waitress came soon enough and we ordered our food. I enjoyed it, like every other day we had eaten here, but I was becoming sick of all the restaurant food. I found myself distracted from the conversation as I picked apart my chicken sandwich.
Would I be able to enjoy myself with Harry there tonight?
In no way did I want to ruin Daisy’s fun, but I feared he would insult me and ridicule me until I could not withstand it anymore. I thought of the way the corners of his mouth tugged on his lips in satisfaction when I’d become frustrated with him. I hadn’t nearly spent three full hours with him and yet his quirks haunted my mind.
Who was he and why was I so hung up on him?
There was nothing appealing about him. He was rude and ignorant and vulgar and had no respect for anyone but himself. He was dark and creepy to some degree. Nothing about him could be attractive to a girl.
That was if you left out his physical appearance, though.
“Ray,” Blake’s persistent calling of my name snapped me out of my head. “Niall wants to come out with us tonight. Are we going to a club?” Daisy and I shot each other uncomfortable glances and I squirmed in my seat. I wasn’t sure how he would react to my plans for the night.
“Actually, Blake, I meant to talk to you about that.” I said. Blake put down his fork and looked at me with a confused and concerned expression. “Uh,”
“I really hit it off with that kid Aaron and since it’s the last night of our trip, I’m forcing Ray to come see him for the last time with me. She can, um, she can see you before we leave tomorrow or if we get home early enough tonight.” Daisy finished for me. Blake nodded his head slowly.
“Is that kid going to be there?” He asked. My eyes flashed to Niall, awkwardly picking at his cheeseburger. I could tell how uncomfortable he felt with a slightly argumentative conversation that he was completely lost in.
“Blake, I’ll be fine. Let’s just finish our dinner, okay?” I took another bite of my sandwich, chewed, and swallowed. “So, Niall, do you go to school with Blake?”
“Oh, yeah, Blake and I are proud Scarlet Knights.” He told me. I showed him a small smile and found myself wishing to get out of there. I felt Blake eyeing me from across the table. “Where do you go?”
“Pittsburgh. Daisy and I go to University of Pittsburgh.” I said with a smile.
“You’re really going to hangout with that kid when you know how he treats you?” Blake started again. I swallowed heavy.
“Blake, let it go. I’ll be fine.” I attempted to brush it off.
“Why the hell do you want to be around him?” He continued.
“Blake,” I warned.
“Who is going to protect you when he’s a dick? What in the world makes it seem like a good idea to hangout with him?” He wouldn’t stop.
“Blake, give it up.” I shot back. “Jesus Christ, I can handle myself. I’m a big girl. I don’t need you to protect me. For the love of God, you’re not even my boyfriend, stop acting like you’re my father.” Blake simply held my gaze and took a deep breath. “I’m trying to be the good friend that I’ve failed to be this entire vacation. Spring Break is about making bad decisions, isn’t it? So there you go, I’ll make a bad decision by willingly hanging out with him. Let it go, Blake. I came here with Daisy, not with you.”
Daisy shifted uncomfortably in her seat at the mention of her name. My heart rate increased and I felt my face heat up and I was getting more aggravated by the second. I pulled some money out of my bra - a handy storage place when you don’t want to carry around a wallet or a purse - and tossed it on the table.
“Niall, I’m sorry your first impression of me was like this. It was great meeting you. I’ll call you tomorrow Blake, okay?” I said while standing from my seat. I began to walk out of the restaurant and Daisy followed quickly behind me. “Sorry I ruined your dinner, but if I won’t let Harry disrespect me, then I won’t let Blake tell me who I can and can’t hangout with. I already have a father, and he’s more than enough.”
“Don’t worry about it, Ray. He was being a controlling dick.” Daisy reassured as she caught up and fell into step beside me. “Let’s grab a drink then we’ll head to Aaron’s cove.” I nodded and led the way to the bar.
