The new girl

〰️Chapter 3〰️

I sat  at the kitchen table just sitting and watching my mom cook breakfast. My brothers came and sat next to me. They was calm at first but then they started pushing and shoving each other as usual. I told them to stop before they Aggravate mom and I won't get to use the car. Soon as breakfast was ready, we all ate. My brothers rushed out the kitchen and my mom carried plates in to the sink. I grabbed them from her and cleaned the dishes. She looked at me weirdly as always. "Mom can I ask you something". I began to say as I dried my hands off. I sat at the table and so did she. "What?" She said.

"Can I borrow the car?"

"For?"

"I want go somewhere. But it's far to walk"

"No. I told you that car outside is only for emergencies only"

"Dad said he's gonna give me that car when I'm old enough and ready. I am. I past my drivers test and everything. I know how to drive so why won't you let me drive MY car!" I yelled.

"He  DID NOT GIVE YOU THAT CAR!"

"Yes he did !He-"

"Lower it!" She hissed. I flinched cause I thought she was going to hit me like usual.

"Mom he did. He said it. You was never around because he loves to be around me more than you. He tells me everything. "

"I'm not having this conversation with you. You're not using that car. Go catch the bus!" She stood up leaving the kitchen

"Mom !" I yelled. I heard her slammed the door to her room. I got up packing my stuff. I'm leaving. I rushed into the living room and grabbed dad keys off the counter. My brothers watched me packed my bags. They moaned and wined cause they wanted to go. I told them I'll be back. I'm going to California. I've contacted my aunt on my dad's side, who recently moved up there 4 years ago. She told me this would be a great place to live and explore. I threw all my bags into the car and quietly shut the car door. I grabbed all my shoes and my phone chargers packing them into a bag. I grabbed my savings and kissed my brothers forehead. "Where you going Courtney?" Isaac asked. I continued kissing all over his face. "California" I said. I kissed all over both of there faces once more and They laughed as always. I dig my hands into my savings giving them each 5 dollars. "Be good". I said. They nodded before running off. I snuck outside and closed the door locking it behind me. I got into the car and quickly put the key into the ignition and started the car. I sped out the driveway and took off. I started smiling. I am not Going to let her get in the way of What I want to do. I want to start a new life in California for a year then go to New York for a year just what me and dad planned. I put up my maps app and put in my aunts address.

**** 4 days later***

I gazed at the trees as wind blew through my hair. I stood and leaned against the balcony staring down at the pool. My aunt came out with snacks. "Your phone wouldn't stop ringing" she said. "Well. " I replied still looking at the beautiful sky. I got here 8 hours ago. My aunt thought I was crazy for driving way to California. I didn't took any rest. As soon as I got here I slept for almost 9 hours. It's still not enough sleep for me but I just wanted to get in the pool. California is so beautiful. I should've left a long time ago. My aunt gave me a bathing suit she ordered a long time ago. It was gorgeous on me. It fits so well on my body.
