This week, apart from it's beginning on Monday has been kind of uneventful. There have been exchange of sassy comments here and there between Stacey and I whenever she hangs out with us. But, Chris has maintained his distance with her and that has kept my thoughts at peace.
As I get ready for the dinner at Breanna's place, I can't help but smile at my reflection because Chris and I have actually managed to spend five days without fighting, which is a big deal for me. Because ever since we even started talking, we've been arguing on the most stupid things.
I put on one coat of liner before standing back and tucking my hair into a ponytail as I look at the white blouse I'm wearing with blue jeans. Breanna asked me to wear a dress, but all she received was a deadpan look in return so she didn't insist further.
The door bell rings, and I collect my cell phone, not bothering to carry along any wallet or clutch as I go down the stairs. My father meets me by the kitchen and pulls me into a hug.
"Next time, your boyfriend is having a dinner with us." He says, making me nod at him.
"How about you tell him yourself?"
"Alright then, let's go."
We walk to the front door, and Dad opens the door to reveal Chris in a plain dark blue t-shirt with black rugged jeans. I resist the urge to roll my eyes because at least he's not wearing his leather jacket.
"Chris, are you free tomorrow night?" Dad asks and I turn to him.
"Not tomorrow night." I pout.
"Alright, alright. Do you want to do this on a school night?" He asks, raising an eyebrow and I shrug, looking at Chris again who looks confused.
"What are we talking about?"
"He's taking offence in that fact that we're having dinner at Breanna's before at my place." I explain and a look of understanding dawns upon him.
"Oh, alright then. I don't mind school night." Chris informs, casually which makes me grin internally because I'm sure my father plans on roasting him at that dinner.
"Wednesday then. I get free early from the office. I'm usually not home during this time on fridays, today is just the lucky day." Dad tells us.
"Alright Dad, love you. Bye." I kiss his cheek, and then hurry out of the door, Chris trailing behind me.
He opens the door for me, receiving a cheeky smile from me and I get in the passenger seat as he walks to the driver's one. When he slides in, he turns to me briefly.
"Hey." He gives me a small smile and I reach over the console to press my lips against him because I can never get enough of it.
As soon as I do, his hand reaches up to my cheek, cupping it as he pulls me a little closer to himself. The warmth of his skin radiates off to mine as his lips send tingling sensation as the explore my own.
