What is the difference between these?
Decimal places you start counting from after the decimal point, significant figures you start counting from the first non-zero number and sometimes you need to add zeroes to maintain place value.
What is the same about these?
For both you have to look at the first rejected digit and use to it to decide how to round. 5 or above round up, 4 or below round down.
