disclaimer: i know the song isn't from the right era but it fits
that night you sat up for hours, switching positions, tossing and turning, playing with the blonde boys soft hair. you sighed as the sun crept across the deep blue sky and turned it to an icey hue. glancing at the sleeping boy, hearing his soft breaths, you got up slowly and walked into the living room. the pale yellow had now turned into a beaming orange that casted warped shadows through the cracks in the blinds. you sat bathing in the warm sunlight, listening to the silence and occasional bird call. you longed for the sleep to pull you into it's undertow, but it seemed to just miss you, as if it were a person, grazing their fingers so softly across your cheek and then pulling away too quickly. pulling a blanket over your exposed legs, you hummed a tune,
moon river, wider than a smile
im crossing you in style someday
you dream maker
you heartbreaker
where ever you're going im going your way
two drifters off to see the world
there's such a lot of world to see
we're after the same rainbow's end
waiting round the bend
my huckleberry friend
moon river and me
as you mulled over the words and watched the bright orange sun disappear into a lemon colored ball, you felt two arms wrap around your waist. "morning" you whispered sleepily to him. his reply was just a slight squeeze of your hips and a small grunt. with a smile on your lips and the sun in your eyes, you turned to face the boy of your dreams, the boy who deserved not only the sun, the earth, the moon, or the stars, but the boy who deserved all of the galaxies. with a soft kiss to his cheek you whispered in his ear, "i love you todd."

a/n my heart melted as i wrote this, i hope you enjoyed! also the song is called "moon river" by Audrey Hepburn and it's from breakfast at tiffany's! it sounds absolutely gorgeous with her voice and the soft instruments ahh! xx
