Yumna:
Since most girls work these days, why was he getting so upset with me for working? All I wanted to do was work for a few months, in his company, since that is what my parents had agreed upon.

"Why do you need to work when I am here, providing for you and giving you access to all of my earned money?" he asked, not even turning to face me.

"I would like to work and support you,"I made an effort to reason with him, but he was just being a stubborn guy. Fortunately, he said he would work from home these two days before Ramadan, so I am glad that he will not have to go to the office.

"Then I can help you out as much as possible," I said, getting softer in tone.

"No means no!" he yelled, glaring at me. My mother then shot me an apologetic glance, and the two of them walked to their room.

"Then I work from home otherwise there is no use I completed the accounting course," I said to my unaccommodating husband, but he did not seem to care.

"You completed the course and work that was acceptable prior to marriage, but now?He uttered words that always melt my delicate heart, saying, "We have everything, so why do you want to stress yourself as Ramadan approaches? You need full rest and care."

I picked up his and my plates, and he assisted me in putting things back in their proper places. "Fine only because it is Ramadan but this is not over Ahad I can not just sit and do nothing," he said.

"We shall see," he said, simply shaking his head.

He grabbed my arm and held my chin to force me to look at him. "Ah fine," I said angrily as I turned away.

"Just relax and have fun while I am here; we will figure out what to do,"At minimum, allow me to earn your trust.

I looked into those stunning blue eyes and he nodded. "You have already been forgiven, I just left it in the past, but from now on we will not hide anything from one another," I said.

He spoke with sadness in his voice, "You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I promise not to betray your trust or your heart going forward. We will face everything together after going through so much." We then gave each other a hug.

"What about my aunt and uncle who failed to attend Imran's meeting?"In an attempt to find out, I asked Ahad.

"Imran made the decision to simply leave them after your aunt apologized to him in private and promised to call you as well, but your uncle is too obstinate,"I just hope my uncle does not cause us any more problems, Ahad said, adding that he knew exactly how he was.

His voice was low, as if he had been strangled and was still recovering. "I want to tell you something but please do not freak out I just found out," he said.

"Please let me know,"I just hoped everything was okay because my hands were already shaking and sweat was starting to form.

It seemed like he did not want me to know, as he spoke slowly, "It is about someone close to you."

He said, his voice breaking, "It is about Imran, your brother," and I thought, Hopefully this is not a serious issue.

"What is it, Ahad? What information did you discover?"

He began to say, "Look, he is sick," but stopped in midsentence.

"By "sick," what do you mean exactly?I have no blood relatives other than him, Ahad, so what are you talking about? He was already cured, yes.

Ahad approached me and gave me a hug, saying, "He has a brain tumor, but it has not spread completely. It can be treated." Hugging him back, I shifted my trembling hands to his chest.

"Why him again?"When I asked Ahad, he simply replied that we must be strong for him because Imran will be seeing a specialist and will only receive guidance from them.

Is Aisha aware of this?I asked him to wipe away my tears; after all, that girl had always stood by my brother, and since they had recently gotten engaged, they should also be happy.

As for Ahad, I understood him when he said, "Yeah she knows she knew after convincing Imran a lot; you know how your brother is he does not want anyone to worry though this is about his life." We must stand by Imran.

As we discussed our plans for the weekend, he wiped away my tears with his thumb and said, "Now I do not want to see tears in your eyes." I grinned back at him.

I told him that the four of us would just be at home, and he simply replied, "No, we can go to a hotel or something," to which I replied in the negative and his parents agreed.

Ramadhan started and ended so fast like the month just flew away infront of our eyes....I hope our fasts and duas are accepted.

After a week of Ramadan, I want to talk to Ahad about my job, but I am not sure how to bring up the fact that I received a promotion and an offer from the company where I worked before getting married.
