Stupid Socializing ~ Chapter 10

This was a bad idea. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I was regretting my decision. I stared out of my window as the buildings rolled by.

“So am I going to get an explanation?” Leo asks in the driver seat as he drove to our house. “I just want to know why I had to pick up a strange boy with my sister from school after she canceled her tutoring session.”

“It doesn’t matter.” I mumbled.

“Oh yes it does especially since the strange boy is in the van right now.”

“Um…” the unmasked Xiong started to speak.

“Sorry I should probably introduce myself. My name is Leonard but everyone calls me Leo.  I’m also Maia’s older brother.”

“I’m Kannon Rai.”

“So Maia what’s going on?” Leo brought the direction around.

“I let little pieces slip.” I ammited. “And we made an agreement to ask questions about each other; since I’m giving up my big secret he is going to model for me.”

“Does he know how to model?”

“I don’t think he knows what the word is.”

“Um...” Rai raises his hand.

“Moreover when are we going to arrive home? It feels like we have been driving for awhile now.” I turn to glare at Leo. He is grinning from ear to ear.

“I thought we should take the longer route home so you can spill the beans to me.”

“Leo! Home now!” I order. He laughs it off and in a few short minutes we arrive at my house.

Leo parks the car in the driveway. Everyone exits the vehicle. Rai appears nervous. Leo unlocks the house door and invites him in. I felt a bit ashamed at how the house looked. My house was a two floor house and while some parts of the house were cleaned other spaces weren’t. Case and point the kitchen and dining room were clean but the living room looked like someone threw fabric around the room. Which was partially true.

“Please don’t mind the mess.” I said to Rai as I steered him towards the kitchen. “We just have the tendency to take our work home.”

“Okay,” Rai hesitantly went with me toward the kitchen.

I mentally face palmed myself for not cleaning. I look towards Leo. ‘Clean up please’ I mouth to him. Leo just shook his head and went into the living room. "So... Do you want something to eat?" I ask Rai.

“Uh,” he watched Leo leave the room then turned towards me. “Just a drink would be fine.”

"Is water okay?" I turn towards the cupboard with the cups in it. I hoped it wouldn't take too long. But it would be so much easier if  Lune would pop up. She was always at the edge of my vision or peering around something, but she was out of sight which was weird.

“Yeah, that’s fine.” I could tell he was watching me which made me nervous. I got us both water, and set it down in front of us. We took a few drinks out of it before I breathed in deeply.

"I'm just going to go straight to the point." I lift up the wrist with my bracelet. "I am a miraculous holder." He stared at me a few moments.

“What?”

Maybe I was too abrupt. “Well you see my bracelet is a miraculous and I have a kwami. She is around here somewhere"

I saw the wheels turning in his head. “So you've been watching us through your miraculous form?"
