I met you
At one point---
The very distinct point---
In my life.
One point.
You met me
In a separate,
Yet unforgettable
Point in your life.
Two points.
In geometry,
Two distinct points determine a line.
A line extends forever.
So I hoped,
Forever we will be.
Only later did I realize,
A line goes on forever
In opposite directions.
Left and right.
Up and down.
So I thought,
Forever we will be
Two distinct points
On a line
Going on forever
Just the same.
In opposite directions.
