The Prince and the Dragon

•Chapter Eight•

Sam watched the birds flew from above all the trees so he decided to wander towards without letting anyone know.  Sam grabbed a cape with a hood and started walking to it.

He made it to the gates. He looked back at the castle and pass through the gates. He made his horns disappear and his wings too. It was a power that dragons learn to hide their horns, wings, and tails from the humans.

He saw more birds fly as he got closer to the human kingdom. He got in undetected. He saw many humans stare at him but they turned and mind their business.

It was already noon when Sam was looking around for the source of it. Something didn't feel right and he knew it.

Back at the dragon kingdom, John thought his son was hiding like always so he didn't let the guards find Sam.

Sam was the type of dragon to hide in places no one would search for him.

It was getting night and everyone went inside their homes. Sam made his wings go out as he flew up inside the castle door and hid up in the ceiling.

Sam hid behind the big dark wood that only darkness was seen. He looked down and saw the king talking to Michael.

"How about we strike here? The dragons would never see it coming" The King said as Michael nodded.

Sam's eyes widen. 'They're planning an attack!' Sam thought. Then Sam started thinking that the humans weren't powerful to stop them.

He knew he should leave quickly but decided to listen more to the conversation.

"Thanks to our prisoner, we finally have a way to control dragons and take over them," Michael said to the king.

"Prisoner" Sam whispered to himself. Then the king and Michael continued to talk about the strategy of their attack. Sam listened closely as he watched.

Then after a few minutes, the king excused himself to go to bed. Michael left the room and Sam got down as soon as no one was there.

He looked around the dark room as he looked around the place. He found his way to the prisoner cells. He was shocked that they were millions of them and chains. He touched the chain and it stung. He pulled back and saw his finger red.

They chains were dragon-proof. Then he walked down and saw the prisoner. It was a dragon, a boy dragon, Samandriel.

"Alfie," Sam said quietly as he looked at his friend. "Sam" Alfie's eyes widen at the look of the little prince in the human kingdom.

"What are you doing here?" Alfie asked Sam as Sam grabbed the keys to the cell. "I saw the birds flying and I knew something was wrong," Sam explained as he unlocked the cell then the chains.

"We have to leave," Sam said as he grabbed Alfie's hand to leave. Alfie followed behind Sam. Sam quietly opened the main door and quickly pulled Alfie out. They ran out of the castle and into the village.

The village candles were off but then yelling were heard from the castle. Lucifer caught the escape as he told his father the king about it. All candles turn on quickly.

"Run" both boys ran as quickly as possible from the horses coming at them. Then Sam leads Alfie to the gates of the kingdom. The gates were locked.

Then Michael and his warriors caught up and surrounded them. "We have to fight," Sam said as his wings went and so did Alfie's wings.

Both started shooting fire at the soldiers but their shields were made of the metal that can hurt the dragons. It didn't affect them at all.

"You cant run Prince Samuel," Michael said as he stood in front of them with the chains.

"Fly," Alfie said quickly as he flew up and Sam followed as he flies behind Alfie but a rope grabbed Sam leg as he flew to the top.

Sam burned the rope and flew out with Alfie. They started flying as fast as possible as they flew quickly to the dragon kingdom.

Once they were in the woods, Sam took a break. "So Sam what's your plan from this" Alfie said as he aims at Sam to shoot fire.

Sam thought about how he was going to escape as Alfie's eyes turned red.
