37|Distraction

Harry's pov

I slipped out of bed it's 1 am and Alexis is asleep I'm not gunna disturb her but my father has called me for a meeting at the den and I've gotta go

I kissed her head then kissed her bump I walked out triple checking everything was locked before starting my run to the den

I went straight to the meeting hall I stepped in and I guess I was the last one all seats were filled but one around the round table as I sat I noticed the table top was covered in maps ,maps of the woods, of our Territory, and of the next den's territory

"What's this about?" I asked looking at my father

"As you know land war is eminent they keep trying to inch into the buffer zone and our pack has killed more than a few of their men because of this but they aren't stopping we need to make a plan of action Luke's father is dead he died of a heart attack late last week but we all know Luke we're sure he killed his father to become top alpha needless to say he thinks his den is capable of an ambush" my father spoke changing who he looked at with every crucial detail

"He has been spotted himself walking in the buffer zone" father pointed out the buffer zone between our 2 dens on the map

"That's bullshit he's got his land what is he 5!" One of the advisers growled

"Less land he's trying to get more sounds to me he's trying to compensate for something" I laughed the men laughed even my father

"Regardless he's a punk I want to try and keep him in his place" my father reiterated

"I'm more than willing to come in for more training do more sparring" I acted serious now

"We know you're not coming in as often for the safety of your mate no one here is arguing that you've come in when needed then gone back she's pregnant her safety should be your top concern" father waved me off

"If this is what it takes to protect my den then I've got to step up"

"Loyal blood, loyal blood indeed" one of the other members commented

"Loyalty and running yourself ragged is 2 different things" father sighed "look if you think you can do it do it but you can't be weak you can't be tired those are 2 things you, your mate, and your pup can't afford"

"Aye he's got a point there" another member nodded

"Yes well I think that's enough for tonight who's taking the buffer shift?" My father asked standing up

"I am" One of the younger members raised their hand

"I want a full report tomorrow"

"Of course" he ran out after long with others taking a shift I grabbed my father

"I need to tell you something"

"What?" He sounded so calluses now

"I think Alexis is part of all this an omega was in the house from the other den Luke obviously has something to do with this I dunno what's the real issue if he's putting on this 'taking land' front to distract the den or if she is just a pawn"

"You're mate isn't the only valuable person in the world Harold look I support you having a mate and a pup but what makes you think he wants your mate?" He hissed
