There before early dawn of earth day
Festooned in cold darkness I laid
Waiting
And in the sky a golden blur went soaring
More and more came to
As did clouds threatening my view
But I saw quite a few that night
Each one a racing golden blaze of light
And as the clouds moved faster I caught a glimpse of one more
Such beauty the Lyrids were, I never saw before
