Chapter 11

-8 months later-

  Amy smiled as she showed off the golden ring decorating her left hand. Everyone in the room, besides her and Charlotte, her new fiance, began to freak out.
  "Holy shit, when? How? Where?" Ethan squealed. Amy chuckled. Most of her friends were there, she wanted to get everyone together to share the news.
  "It's actually a really funny story, we were ice skating-" Amy said, her and Charlotte already laughing. "She fell, and the ring box fell out of her pocket!"
  "I had reservations to a fancy restaurant that night, but noooooo..." Charlotte whined. The rest of the group chuckled. Mark and Jack stood near the back of the small crowd, hand in hand. Jack chuckled.
  "No turning back now, it seems."
Mark scoffed, jokingly. But Jack was right, no running back to Amy. But that didn't matter to him too much anymore. He had grown quite fond of Jack, maybe going as far to say that he truly loved him. Not just because they were forced into it, being soulmates, he was actually in love with him. He still considered himself straight, he couldn't explain to himself how he'd fallen for a man, but he didn't have the mental capacity to question it. He just went along, and he was glad he had. He smiled as the group crowded around Amy and her fiance. He couldn't be happier for her. Though, there was one thing that would make him just a bit happier for himself. He didn't want to take the attention away from the pair, but now just felt like the right time. He fumbled with the box that had been sitting in his pocket for the last three weeks, before eventually pulling it out. He let go of Jack's hand, filling the empty space with the box. Jack, looked down, a bit puzzled, until he noticed what Mark was trying to silently ask, trying to imply. He opened the velvet case, to reveal a shining, shimmering silver ring. He raised a hand to his mouth, covering it in shock. Mark could see a smile peeping through, he too was beaming at the sight. Jack chuckled, and nodded, tears of joy forming in the corners of his eyes. He removed the hand from his mouth, allowing him to kiss his partner, now his fiance. The two smiled as they melted further into the kiss, before pulling away. Mark took the ring, and slipped it onto Jack's finger. The two embraced, as they looked back to the group, still obsessing over Amy and Charlotte. The two smiled. They honestly couldn't have asked for more.
