I watched from the sidelines

As they destroyed one another

Abandoning love and trust

Choosing greed and power

I felt what they felt

The place where my heart once was

Throbbing

I saw what they saw

My eyes tingling

With an unfamiliar feeling

It was like a show to me

Of fear and betrayal

And discovery

Of hearts and minds

And souls at war

And tainted water

To quench ones thirst

Of indecisiveness

In the midst of battle

A woman split between

Brother or sister

Father or mother

She chose wrong

Or right

It depends

Which side you fall

To me it has never mattered

The end is the end

Trust a goddess send

The scent of blood

Everywhere

The howls of the lost

Filling the air

Sacrifices and sacrifices

Chosen and forced

Horrific events that feed my hunger

That calm the flicking flames

I will do my job

But still I will think

The dragon,

The witch,

The warlock

There are so many other ways

Their stories could have end

But for now I will reign

Across the plagued lands

As death itself

It's final hand

Watching humanity

Take its final

Weary breath
