A/N

I found this great song by Set It Off, considering the song is about liars it fits pretty well with the chapter. It's called Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, feel free to listen to it while reading.

Himika rolled over in bed, thankful that it was a Saturday and she got an extra few hours of sleep. She'd only been at school for a week and she already didn't want to get up in the morning.

Himika got out of her bed and threw on her regular clothes, thankful it wasn't her uniform. She opened her door and walked downstairs, deciding that she would get a cup of coffee and talk to Kaneki, who she hasn't seen since Thursday.

"Morning." Himika greeted as she took a seat at a table near the counter.

"Morning!" Hinami replied, bounding over to her table and sitting across from Himika.

Himika wanted to asked for some coffee but stopped once Touka placed two cups in front of them.

"Thanks Touka!" Hinami exclaimed.

"Thanks." Himika agreed.

Himika couldn't help but notice how quiet everyone was at Antieku. Hinami however seemed to be much more oblivious as to what was going on in the shadows.

"Where's Kaneki?" Himika asked, prying for answers.

Touka didn't reply right away, but she did look nervous.

"He had to go out." Touka answered.

"Alright." Himika said, unconvinced. "But he's been out since Thursday."

"He's staying with a friend." Touka assured, sweating nervously.

Himika didn't think Kaneki had friends outside of Antieku, but decided not to pry any further than she already had.

Hinami and Himika spent most of their morning talking about books and their new school life until the bell for the shop chimed, signaling someone had entered.

"Hey Uta." Touka greeted, noticing the package he carried.

"Hello," Uta replied. "I'm here with Himika's mask."

"You could've said it was ready and we'd come to your shop." Touka sighed.

"I know, but I wanted to come for a surprise visit." Uta said. "Now where's Himika? I need to know how it looks on her."

"Over here Uta." Himika called, raising her hand.

Uta brought the small box he was carrying and set it down on the table between the two girls.

"Take off your hood so I can put your mask on." Uta said, slowly opening the box.

Hinami attempted to peek inside the box but Uta playfully pushed her face away.

"No peeking Hinami." Uta scolded. "Both of you close your eyes."

Himika and Hinami shut their eyes as Uta told them to.

Himika could hear the crinkling of paper as Uta removed her mask from the box. She could feel the cool leather against her skin as the mask was slipped on. From what she could tell the mask covered her neck to the top of her forehead and also covered her left eye, her human eye specifically.

"Okay open your eyes." Uta said.

Their eyes flew open once Uta said that and Hinami found herself staring in awe at Himika's mask.

"You look so cool!" Hinami exclaimed.

"I do?" Himika asked, not knowing what she looked like yet.

"Here." Uta interrupted, handing her a mirror.

Himika gazed at her reflection, smiling lightly under the mask as she looked at the mask.

The mask had a skeleton like smile with a zipper in the middle, an eyepatch with a smiling face covering her left eye, and had rose prints along the sides.

"Looks like you've done it again Uta!" Hinami exclaimed, clapping her hands in glee.

"I'm so glad it looks good on you." Uta said, sighing in relief.

"Thanks Uta." Himika said, handing the mirror back to Uta.

"No problem," He replied. "See you all later."

"Bye Uta!" Hinami said, waving goodbye.

"Bye Uta." Himika repeated.

Uta took the box with him and left, giving everyone one last wave before heading out of the coffee shop and back to his mask making shop.

"You should go hide that in your room." Hinami suggested. "That way you'll have it when you need it."

"Good idea Hinami." Himika agreed, taking off her mask.

She held the mask in her arms as she went back up the stairs towards her room. She settled for hiding it in plain sight, using a transformation jutsu to make it look like it was a black fedora.

Himika used jutsus as much as possible so that she wouldn't forget how to use them, but after being a ninja for so long it was hard to forget.

Besides, I'd help you remember.

Shin was constantly whispering things to her, making him hard to ignore. But she still didn't trust him.

Himika also couldn't help but be suspicious around Touka, Nishiki and Mr. Yoshimura. Every time she would ask about where's Kaneki they would always reply with, 'he's gone out.'

Mr. Yoshimura and Nishiki were more convincing, but Touka constantly had a saddened expression on her face.

To Himika, Hinami seemed oblivious to anything involving Kaneki and believed what the others told them.

Himika spent most of her day reading in her room, but once she realised it was 7:00, she snatched the remote off the nightstand and quickly flicked on the TV to see the news.

"Breaking news!" The TV blared as it lit up.

"A CCG ghoul transport bus has been attacked! Aogiri Tree is believed to be behind the attack with the help of the Eyepatch ghoul!"

'Eyepatch ghoul?' Himika thought.

"Our news helicopter is getting as close as possible to film the incident!"

As the helicopter zoomed it's camera in on the scene, Himika caught sight of familiar white hair. When the cameras image got clearer, Himika could clearly see the creepy lip-less mask the 'Eyepatch' ghoul wore.

"Kaneki!" Himika exclaimed jumping up from her bed.

She dashed over to her desk and grabbed the fedora which was her mask and undid the transformation on it, also taking time to put her weapon pouch onto her leg, which was still filled with kunai and shuriken from her dimension.

She ran down the stairs and to the exit before Nishiki, Touka and the manager stopped her.

"Himika!" Touka yelled.

"Where the hell are you going?" Nishiki asked, raising his voice.

"I need to go to Kaneki!" Himika yelled back.

"You have to stay with us!" Touka inisisted.

"Why would I stay with you fucking liars! All anyone does is lie to me!" Himika yelled before slipping on her mask and running out.

"Himika!" Touka screamed after her.

"No," Mr. Yoshimura interrupted. "Let her go."

"But-!" Touka tried.

"No," He repeated. "I don't think we can reason with her."

I would really appreciate if someone could possibly try and draw Himika's mask. I can't exactly find a picture of what it would look like so if any of you wanted to, you can private message me and send me a picture of your art. It can be digital or just a plain old drawing, I don't care. Just remember that her ghoul eye is her right eye and her mask covers her left.
