Your POV

Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Tick, tock. The never ending ticking of the clock was enough to drive anyone insane. Reyson shifted beside you. It was obvious he was just as uncomfortable as you were. Thankfully, you weren't alone in here. It was you, the three herons, Tibarn, his two right hands, and Naesala.

You put you hand by your side to support yourself and a nail pierced your flesh. You bit your lip to keep from crying out. Anything that could give away your position to the enemy was dangerous. Rafiel seemed to realize your situation and quietly moved over to you.

He gently lifted your injured hand and inspected it. "It isn't infected, but we'll need to clean and cover the wound." He said in a voice that was just barely loud enough for you to hear.

As the heron tended to your wound, you leaned your head against the wall and took a moment to access your current situation. You were in the Tower of Guidance (I think that's what its called), currently hiding from Ashera in an abandoned room.

A/N: for all of you who are going to rant about how you can only take one heron into the tower, no. Get out. This is fan fiction. I'll have however many herons I want in the tower. Have a nice day.

You didn't know how it had gotten go this. Ike... He had beaten her... Or so you thought. She rose from her spot on the ground... And began killing everyone. First was Ike himself. Everyone had been too stunned to do anything.

Then she began killing other people. You managed to get away, but you were pretty sure you guys were the only ones left alive. You were scared out of your mind and your hands were shaking. The male heron took your hands in his gently and looked into your eyes.

"Its okay. We're going to make it okay of this alive." He said quietly, but kindly. You nodded, tears rolling down your S/T cheek. You nearly jumped out of your skin when you heard a crash in a few rooms away, followed by screams.

Looks like you weren't alone after all. But you sure as hell were now. Leanne let out a quiet gasp. Tibarn pressed a finger to his lips, signalling you to be quiet. Like he needed to clarify that.

As Rafiel had comforted you, Naesala silently went over to Leanne to calm the shaking laguz. (No, I don't ship Naesala x Leanne. Get out.) All of a sudden, the door to the room you were in flew open. You eyes widened in fear and surprise. Rafiel seemed be concerned as well.

His soft grip tightened on your hand ever so slightly. "I know you're in here." Ashera's emotionless voice rang out. Tibarn scrunched his eyebrows in frustration. He suddenly opened his eyes, determined. "I'll distract her. You run." He instructed.

Before anyone could argue, he walked out of his hiding spot. "Hey, Ashera!" He said, getting her attention. Before she had the chance to kill him like the other's, he shifted and flew away from where we were. She followered him.

I won't waste your sacrifice... You mentally said and began running. You were soon followed by everyone else. "Where do we go?!" Janaff yelled. "Down!" Was the only answer you could offer. You continued running without looking back. You didn't have a choice.

Rafiel was just barely keeping up with you. When you two finally stopped to take a breath, you realized you had lost everyone else. As much as you wanted to search for your lost friends, you knew that wasn't a possibility.

You let out a small scream when you turned forward again and saw Ashera standing in front of you two. Rafiel took your hand in his and stepped in front of you. He... Was protecting you. You've never seen him so defensive of you before. Ashera seemed amused. But she wasted no words on us. She killed Rafiel without a second thought. A moment before he died, he looked into your eyes and smiled. He mouthed three words. I love you.

You were tempted to get revenge for her killing Rafiel, but you knew you had no choice. So you ran. And ran and ran and ran. But it didn't seem like you were getting any closer to the exit.

You soon felt a sharp pain ripple throughout your body. You knew that pain meant that death had finally found you. "Finally..." You muttered to yourself.

As you lay on the ground, on the edge of death, you said something. "I love you Rafiel..." You closed your eyes for the last time and  reunited with the one you cared for the most.
