Your Pov
It was the middle of a battle when the arrow flew in Illyana's direction. "No!" You called out, running towards her. You couldn't let her die, she meant too much to you.

"Hello! My name is Y/N!" You greeted a light purple-haired girl. She was in the lunchroom, tray piled high with food. "You sure have a lot there!" You giggled. The girl looked up at you, then back down to the food, and then back at you again.
"I'm hungry." Was all she said. Snickering quietly to yourself, you continued. "Hi hungry, I'm Y/N!" You said cheerily. Her eyes widened a bit before she smiled. She even laughed a little bit. You gave a cheeky smile and she offered you a spot next to her. "Wanna sit by me?" She asked, beginning to feel comfortable around you.
"Of course!" You graciousfully accepted and sat next to her. You two talked and talked. It didn't take long for you guys to grow close. You had learned her name was Illyana, she loved to eat, she was training to become a thunder mage, and she didn't have many friends.
From that day on you decided you would be her best friend.

The arrow was slowly gaining speed as it got closer to her. And she was completely oblivious to the fact that her life was in danger. You were intent on protecting her doubtless of the cost.
