Surviving The Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter 1: The Disappearance

Song is Zombie by The Cranberries. On January 15, 2018, the lead singer of the band The Cranberries named Dolores O'Riordan passed away at the age of 46. I'd like to honor her by putting this song in one of my chapters. My Dolores O'Riordan rest in peace.

It was September 6, 2006, a Friday afternoon. The afternoon news was on with Mickey Ross and they were talking about the new zoo opening up. When all of sudden, you hear the breaking news alert song and Mickey says something along the lines of 'JUST IN', really loudly. Mickey then proceeds to tell the viewers that a government facility had a dangerous chemical leak on site. The chemical spread throughout the facility and a foot outside the area. There's nothing really around the outside of the facility but they said to not go into the area. Everyone in the government facility was affected by the chemical and the people inside must be quarantined until further notice. After Mickey made the announcement, there was a pause of silence as if there was a foreshadowing of the danger ahead. After a few more announcements about dogs rescuing a kid from a fire, and some famous person getting married; the news was over. I know it! I know it! The government was bound to mess up at some point. The government is stupid and it's too big to function. All the people that work for the government are poisoned in the head and people should rebel. Before you know it, the government will produce something that will kill us all. People say I'm anarchist and you know what it's 100% true. I hate the government. I feel like they just control the way we think sometimes. I'll rebel! I'll be the one leading the rebellion. Anyways, that government facility probably made something shouldn't have been created.

It was 2 hours later that I decided to call my friend Zeke Alabaster and talk about the latest news report... You see, Zeke will probably think it's something catastrophic.. example the zombie apocalypse.. To tell you truth, Zeke and I are two nerdy friends who like Star Wars, everything zombie related, and Star Trek. Also, Zeke has bit of an obsession with zombies.. I mean the last time I called, which was like two days ago, he said he made a zombie survival backpack for the both of us. Mine is still at his house! Anyways back to me calling Zeke. I pick up my phone and dial his number. Ring... Ring.. Ring.. is the sound my phone makes. Then my phone goes to his voicemail: "Hey, it's Zeke. Sorry I couldn't get to the phone right now. Please leave message after the beep." A beep is heard from the phone. "Hey Zeke! You know who it is. I want to talk to you about the news report. Do you think it's zombies? Call Me". An hour went by and no call. I start to worry, so I go to his apartment. I drive over and I park. I go through entrance to the elevator, then to the 8th floor. I knock on room 808, no answer. I twist the door to see if it is unlocked. Success! The door is unlocked! I open door, I call him and nobody's there..
