The mermaid drove a hard bargain
Flashing her distorting mirror
But the princess spoke to her, read her pages of writing
And the mermaid would list everything about it she noticed
The princess listened patiently, but didn't let the mermaids words drown out her own pride
The mermaid insisted that she would never leave
So the princess just held out her arms
And let the piercing words bounce off her armor
Made of her words, her accomplishments, her love
Until the mermaid bowed her head to the princess's strength
