she was running out of time.

if she wanted to make it back in time to help her husband and warn her neighbors, she would need to pick up the pace.

but it was hard, because the tears in her eyes were clouding her vision. she walked faster, with the bundle in her left arm and her right hand clutching her wand, so much so that marks from her fingernails were forming in her palms.

the woman reached her destination, and placed the bundle on the doorstep. she then stood up, looked from the left and to the right, and then walked away to disapparate.

before she could though, she looked back at the bundle containing her child, and quickly ran back and squatted by the baby. the woman took the child's little hand into hers, as her tears fell onto the blanket holding her.

somehow, she knew this was the last time she would see her baby, and poured her heart out to the sleeping child.

"you are going to be so beautiful, so brave, and so strong. i'm sorry i have to leave, but i have to help your father and warn them. it's going to be okay. don't be scared, be brave. i love you with all my heart. please don't ever forget me. stay strong, babygirl, stay strong. i love you."

the woman kissed her child on the forehead. before standing up, she found a spare piece of paper in one of her pockets, and wrote two things on it. she tucked the paper into the bundle. she then whispered a final goodbye, walked away, and disapparated.

later that night, a man with half moon spectacles and a woman with a tall pointed hat were walking through a dark neighborhood.

they were talking about the murder of four people, the boy who survived, and the girl who was no where to be found.

"are the rumors true, albus?" the woman asked.

"i am afraid so, professor," the man spoke, "the good, and the bad."

"and the girl?" the woman asked.

"missing, as if she disappeared from the face of the earth," the man said.

the woman turned her head down, trying to hide her sadness from the man's eyes.

the next morning, a woman by the name of geraldine warren woke up to the sound of crying. she thought it was normal, for she worked in an orphanage (wool's orphanage to be exact) and babies cried all the time. she got out of bed and checked all the rooms that there were babies in.

the babies were not crying.

it was only then did geraldine warren realize the crying was coming from outside. she stuck her head out the window, and saw a bundle on the doorstep. she ran down the steps, opened the door, and saw a baby.

she picked up the child, and as she did, a small piece of paper fell to the ground. geraldine warren bent over and picked up the paper.

it said two things.
