When you are admitted in a hospital they place a white wristband on your wrist with your name on it. But there are other colored bands that symbolize other things. For example a red wristband is placed on dead patients.
One night a surgeon had worked the night shift at a small hospital. He had just finished an operation and was on his way down to the basement. He went in to an elevator and there was only one person there. It was a women in a wheel chair and an IV bag.
The surgeon was making small talk with her as the elevator descended. When the elevator door opened there was another women about to enter the elevator. The surgeon quickly slammed the close button and punched the button to the highest floor.
Surprised, the women in the wheel chair reprimanded the doctor for being so rude and asked why he did not let the other women in.
He said," That women was the women I just operated on. She died during the operation. Didn't you notice her red wristband? We only put those on dead patients."
The women in the wheelchair lifted her arm and said, "Just like mine?"
