"All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses,
And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier."~Walt Whitman

"What does it matter if his eyes are black?" I asked Kaden as we hurried into Keith's house. His wife, Stacey cane out of their room with red puffy eyes.

"He- he still isn't responding." She started to cry again. "We went to bed and wh-when we laid down, his eyes just turned black." Stacey broke down sliding against the wall. What in the hell is going on? Cage went to go see Keith and Kaden went to comfort Stacey.

"I don't know what to do..."

"It's okay Stacey." Kaden cooed to her. But is it really okay?

"Ria Rae!" I rushed into the room and Cage was hovering over him. "He's completely unresponsive... and we can't do anything about it. It's not like we have reaper doctors, this sort of thing doesn't happen." I grabbed onto Keith's hand sighing.

"He's still warm."

"That's the only upside." I'm confused on everything, too many things are happening all at once.

"Ca-" I practically jumped outta my skin when I turned my head seeing Death beside me. His thin lips formed a devious smile when he noticed my uneasiness. I backed away letting go of Keith's hand.

"Don't be afraid, you want to save your friend right?"

"I know you aren't going to do anything devious. Your the Greek God of peaceful death, you aren't like your brother Hypnos." If my schools years of learning Greek mythology is right, then he wouldn't do anything to hurt Keith nor me. I rubbed at his chin then started to circle around Keith's bed. Please say I'm right. Please say I'm right.

My heart was beating so fast I swear I feel a heart attack arising. I clenched onto my teeth holding onto my chest. My breaths started to become short and sharp.

"The affect I have on you is worrisome. Are you afraid of me?"

"C-can you stop whatever you're doing to Keith?" I started to hyperventilate.

"Are you afraid of me Ria Rae?" Thanatos asked stepping closer to me. My heart let out a sharp pain and I yelped kneeling down to the floor.

"Good."

I saw Cage snapping his fingers in my face and I shook my head blinking a couple times.

"Babe? You okay? You went blank for a few seconds." I scrunched up my face at him.

"I just saw-" Keith sprung back to life holding onto his chest for dear life.

"Oh shit!" Was the first thing he said. Stacey ran onto his lap and started to kiss all over his face. Keith's eyes were turning back to Gold and he looked at cage and I smiling. "Thank you."

Did we do anything? Did I do anything? I think Death did something. He did something to Keith to get my attention, but why not just pop up? Why did he have to make it dramatic?

"Uh yeah, you're welcome." Cage said the same rubbing on my shoulders. Keith was holding onto his wife really tight smoothing down her hair.

"You can guys can go back home now, then later do your jobs. Don't worry about me." We nodded his head at Keith leaving his home.

The hospital is full of wondering souls. Looking deader then ever, then Death himself. All dull and slow, all slow with no heavenly glow with skin as white as snow. Their ghostly figures kept going through me not even and they were shouting at the workers there. Shouting if anyone can hear them, see them. I remember that feeling...

I walked into a room and saw a brown skinned women laying on her side with her back face towards me. Her big curly hair was silver and shinny.  The cardiac monitor did one last final beep signifying the person passed away.

"Am I dead?" My blood went cold when I saw her standing right in front of me. Doctors rushed into the room putting the women onto her back. The doctor rolled up her sleeves shouting at the nurses.

"At my count! One! Two!" The doctor pressed on her chest. "Again!"

"I am dead..." She sighed then smiled at me once she noticed I was crying. "Don't cry child, it's my time. I lived a good life." I let her touched my cheek and I touched her hand crying more.

My mom is dead.

"I'm... so sorry mom." My mom looked puzzled letting go of my cheek.

"Mom? You must have me confused. My husband and I never had children." I nodded my head at her. More and more tears kept pouring down my cheeks. I couldn't control them, I couldn't control the wave of emotions hitting me. My mom is dead... she's dead.

"Aren't you here to take me away?" I nodded again.

"Yes, yes I am." My mom stood their smiling excepting the fact she's dead. "I love you mom." I said reading her soul. A bright light appeared then disappeared once the light floated up to the ceiling. I stood there in the hospital as doctors still tried to revive her.

I teleported to my grave screaming into the open. I punched my tomb stone breaking it into half. That didn't release the anger I felt, the sorrow, none of that. I punched into my tomb stone even more. Each hit it crumbled into pieces until the cement turned into dust.

My breathing was heavy and unsteady. I looked at my knuckles and they were already starting to heal.

"This isn't human."
