Tapping his foot in an impatient manner, Mark would glance at the door from time to time. He wanted his classes to end faster. Today was his special day and everyone that knew about it had already sent him their greetings.
"Mark! Happy—" Jeno jumped on the bed, hugging his friend's body that's covered by a duvet. "Birthday, my favorite dumbass!"
"Fuck off!" Mark exclaimed, being awoken by a weight on top of him.
Jeno was the first one who greeted him in the morning.
"Happy birthday, Mark!" Arriving at school, students that he encountered by the front gates had greeted him.
It's probably because Mark was part of the student council, which is why they knew him. "Thank you."
"Mark!" In the hallway when he was making his way to his first class, Jisung, who was at the other end, shouted to catch his attention. "Grow up! Stop being an idiot!"
Mark rolled his eyes as he noticed that his friends still found ways to annoy him on his day. In response to that, he raised his hand up and gave him a middle finger. Jisung burst out laughing before running off to his first class.
"Happy birthday, Mark!"
"Holy fuck!"
Mark flinched from his place when he heard the sound of a confetti pop alongside his classmates greeting him in chorus. He got inside his first class for the day and didn't expect that a surprise was going to greet him. Despite being in shock, Mark can't help but smile and be flattered that his classmates made an effort to greet him on his special day.
So far, Mark's morning went well with people making him feel important and acknowledged on his day. However, there's a specific person that he was waiting to see today. Which is why, while the classes were ongoing, Mark couldn't seem to stop fidgeting in his seat. If he remembers it correctly, and if Donghyuck is going to do it again, the latter would surprise him with a cake the moment morning classes are going to be over. He'll be waiting outside that door and Mark's only job is to act surprised for the plan to be successful.
Honestly, Mark doesn't care about surprises. What mattered to him the most is having to spend his special day with someone special to him in his heart. That's all that he is excited about. He can't wait to spend time with him after classes. Going out at night to eat, having a movie marathon at his apartment, and spending the night together in bed. It might be simple, but that's all that Mark ever wanted.
He didn't need any extravagant celebration, he just wanted Donghyuck to be with him.
"Jeno, you finished packing up, right?" Mark asked his seatmate to idle away time. He needed to curb his boredom, especially when classes were almost over.
