Donghyuck gave his son a smile to reassure him. "Daddy is sleeping, Baby."

Jaemin didn't take long to answer all his calls and went back inside the hospital to follow Mark that waited outside the room looking defeated. With the doctor's permission, they were able to settle inside the room with Donghyuck lying unconscious on the bed. As much as Jaemin wanted to comfort Mark who was biting down his sobs, he, too, was going through it.
The both of them were silent as they stared at Donghyuck's lifeless body. They can't imagine how things would be if it turned out the other way around. Mark couldn't imagine, even in a million years, that he'd lose the person that became his everything. Jaemin would definitely not be able to move on from losing the person who would make him smile first thing in the morning.
With one losing a lover, the other would lose a best friend.
The tension only lifted up the moment the others arrived. Chenle and Renjun were the last ones to be there, thus having them take their meals very late. Not that they were hungry to begin with, but they were extremely exhausted and worn out.
They talked and shared their memories with Donghyuck throughout the next hour. However, Mark stayed silent while being seated next to his lover's bed. He only listened to them talk about their moments with his partner.
"You are so loved, Sunshine." Mark told him, getting this chance to talk to his husband as soon as everyone got to their positions to sleep. "We are all waiting for you."
Morning came and Mark woke up from his thirty-minute nap. The patient's parents arrived the moment the sun began to rise up. Everyone gave their respects to them with Mark and Jaemin initiating to have a talk. Sad to say, Jaemin did get a handful of scolding from his friend's parents, but he knew where they came from and accepted it all. Thankfully, Mark was right beside him, letting the adults understand the situation and how it's also unexpected for everyone.
It surprised Jaemin to see that Mark handled the situation well, talking as if he was an adult himself.
Actually, it looked like he knew Donghyuck's parents to begin with. Jaemin had no idea when Mark was orientated about the parents' temper.
After meeting the doctor that handled their son's case, both Jaemin and Chenle escorted the parents and got busy in handling their stay here in the city. Jeno and Renjun also went out to buy for their meals, leaving Jisung to look after Mark. It didn't take long to have another guest visiting Donghyuck.
"Lucas?" Mark stood up from his seat next to his lover's bed.
"What..." The male was panting, his chest tightening at the sight of the person on the hospital bed. "What happened to him?"
